You really don't realise how deep that is until you see it laid out horizontally. When they did that it was the first time that I realised that the well was more than twice as deep as the length of my garden (60m). Everything is going great at the moment - I have been adjusting the programming to reduce watering times to each sector (there are 5) and only watering every other day. That still gives me 40% more water than before so my garden is greening up again. Today we have had our first rain for 4 weeks so that is welcome too.

Re: Stats

Thats 430 feet deep, some hole in the ground.

What are you growing that requires so much water?

Pushing for a top ten in the team for points.
DC , Sorry Dave but I'm chasing down your runtime position, it will be a while before I get a top ten though.
Once I have a D10 in OpenZIka I will be concentrating on SCC and MIP.
Hoping for some more sunny weather to bring the server into play.

Good Evening All

Steve It's not what I'm growing , it's the nature of my soil (or lack of it). My 2508 m2 plot is built entirely on sand and also is elevated compared to the rest of the condominium therefore drainage is wonderful. Also winter is the dry season so we go many weeks without rain even though day time temperatures may reach 30 C or more (sub tropical climate). I have a number of exotic palms, orchids and bromeliads that need humid conditions as well as young trees to establish. I also have Mangos, Avocado Pears and several varieties of Oranges and Lemons in addition to more unusual plants such as Guaparu and Uruku. I expect that our fig trees and coconut palms will also benefit from the added irrigation.
So as you can see from above, water is vital to maintaining my obsession with a garden (by the way the water is clean enough to use for the swimming pool too)

That's OK Steve. You're about to drop a points place to mac1, so that will compensate me biggrin

Re: Stats

Rod, Oh yes, I remember your photos of the garden now. Some people love gardening and some, like me, don't, enjoy being in one though.
My wife has been trying to get our front and back gardens into good shape for a few years now and has not succeded, really not surprised as she has killed every indoor plant we have ever owned.

DC, I've been expecting Mac1 to fly past me, that new box of his is mighty indeed.

Overtake flags

Hi Dave,

One of the things your lovely stats site and signatures do is to flag, by the use of red or green, when someone is within 7 days of going either up or down a place in the team rankings. I seem to have found that this works fine when the person they are about to overtake is active, but not when they are inactive. I believe that I am about 5 days away from gaining a place in the team runtime rankings, but the signature and stats page do not flag this.

It's not a problem if this is something you don't want to fix, but I did notice that you were considering updates to the stats page, so I thought that this might be another little challenge for you.

Thanks for listening, and for all your stats work; it's greatly appreciated.

Hi Apis. A quick back of an envelope calculation reckons you're about 90 days behind dmc_1970, and currently outputting at 70 days per week. The signature should change your rank to green when you get within 7 days of overtaking, I hope, so please give it until Wednesady ish. If it doesn't (and I'll keep an eye on it myself) then you have spotted a bug. I think (hope) that the "what the ranks will be in 7 days" calculation is applied to all team members, but there might be some kind of issue for those with zero current output.

Another annoyance is the fact that you can't do a comparison with currently inactive members. This has been on the todo list (thanks to Rod Peel) for about 18 months. I believe I fixed the "divide by zero" problem, but I couldn't work out a good way of creating a usable drop down selector with 600 names in it. I made a start, but got distracted. Something to do in the autumn when I've moved house.

Re: Overtake flags

Hi Dave,

Maybe it's me, but I wonder if your envelope is "faulty". Either that, or there's a bug somewhere else. Your "Rankings" page says:
22 dmc_1970 42 years 41 days
23 Apis Tintinnambulator 41 years 316 days

and your "Predict " page says:
With the current production rate 42 years 41 days years of run time for the team will be achieved in 5 days.

so I think my team runtime ranking number should already be green ...

And I do see your point about a very large drop down. The only solution I can see is a two stage drop down, first by initial letter and then by user name, but that's horribly messy.

Thanks Apis. I'm pretty sure it's the predictor that's wrong. It gives the same answer for 42 years as it does for 42.9 (i.e. 4 days). It looks like it's dropping the decimal fraction. I'll see if I can fix that tonight.
