Re: Overtake flags

My AIO water cooler has expired, not sure what to replace it with, was not too happy with the Enermax, might go for a NZXT X72, would prefer a full coverage waterblock though. Might even build my own water cooling system, cost is a bit more though.

I’ve been happy with the be quiet 360mm aio cooler I bought for the 2700x, in a room at 24c it keeps it at 56c running flat out all the time with a 4Ghz base clock, it was pricey especially as I double fanned it but it’s surprisingly quiet considering it’s packing 6 fans. The full custom jobbies just scare me, I know i’d End up with water inside my machine shock

Re: Overtake flags

I built a WC sytem back in 2002, while I was recovering from my first lung collapse.
Made a few mistakes but ended up with a fully working system. Had no experience or prior knowledge of such systems (apart from an IBM ES/3090 600 mainframe).

Can upload a photo if you want a good laugh, but remember, this was a time when no cases had any watercooling conveniences.

Re: Overtake flags

Good morning all/
What I fail to understand is that at this moment, although I am only running two out of the three usual machines, the ambient temperature is up to 30 each day (and not much cooler at night), I am still averaging around 11,000 points a day (4 threads down from usual). Ah well - I'll grin and bear it until I get my new Mac Book Pro in September - with 12 threads

Welcome to the team UBT JohnR .

I've hit 60 years runtime :)

Seemed to have dropped of the performance leaderboard since I started doing MIP.

DC How is your move going?
Would love to see some photos of your new digs.

168 hours to go. Lots of cardboard boxes. Not enjoying it!
BT seem to be refusing to give me a date for moving my broadband, so I've had to buy a 4G dongle and some ludicrously expensive data, and I'm having to move my server in the next couple of days to a temporary home... just as soon as PlusNet have given me a DNS PTR record for my static IP address... which so far has taken 3 days. These things are not that difficult.

Re: Overtake flags

I know, BT are great at making simple things difficult.

One of my better customers, an elderly couple, got me to move them from ADSL to Fibre, it took BT 3 missed visits, and 5 weeks of sufferage to my customers having no BB at all as it was done faultily the first try. They finally got fibre working, they received no compensation, and two weeks later The Male of this elderly couple unexpectedly dies, not BT's fault directly, but I have know him for over 20 years and he stands up for himself (he was a multi millionaire) but with a weak heart.
This all happened from beginning of June.

That's terrible. I'm not intending to have a heart attack, but I can feel my stress levels rising.

Re: Overtake flags

My local xDSL exchange was upgraded to support fibre connectivity some time in early-to-mid 2016, from memory. Ever since, BT Openreach have assigned a wonderful phrase to my local green-cabinet: "not financially viable to upgrade".

I guess I have to move house, to be able to upgrade to fibre! sad

I would guarrantee that I would not have fibre (or even ADSL) today if not for an agreement between BT and the NI government to achieve 100% BB coverage.
Would still be on dialup.
Do you remember the lottery where you registered your interest in ADSL and the higher earning areas would get theirs first! Reminds me of your situation Thargor. I so hated them for that.
