It was good whilst it lasted though eh? I don't like hot weather (or general sunlight), really, so I'm glad that "Summer" doesn't generally last very long! ![]() I'm with you Thargor. I should have been born Norwegian.

I love the heat. I think I must have been kissed by the Sun God when I was born. My best ever postings were Cyprus, during the Turkish invasion in 1974, for 3 months then 7 months on the green line with the UN in Cyprus in 1985. Since 1992 when I left the army I have returned almost every year on holiday to Northern Cyprus summer and at Christmas, until the wife became too ill to fly 2 years ago. Strange to see the locals wearing heavy coats because the winter temperatures are down to the mid 60s f.

Evening all. Both the hottest and coldest places that I have worked were the same place, Kazakhstan. Summer temperatures regularly topped 45 C and I actually experienced two days when the still air temperature was -45 C in winter. By a long way the heat was far more difficult to deal with as we were forced to wear oil field overalls and of course the ubiquitous safety helmet. It was also necessary to carry a stock of absorbent head bands to ensure that you did not drown in your own perspiration (I am folically challenged so it was even worse for me!).

Good afternoon - anyone run out of WUs yet? Indications are that we should be back on line tonight - here's hoping.
