Re: Good morning team

Morning all. Sounds like things are improving Darkmatter.NI. Great news.
My son handed in his final university assignment on Thursday Bradley. He didn't get drunk though (he's diabetic), but he did celebrate with a Dominos feast.
I thought I was being a bit lavish installing 32GB in my new desktop i7 workstation. What sort of models are you rendering, crooks_uk?

Apologies for the delayed response. Its been manic at work.

The rendered images are of the mechanical and electrical systems, along with the structural steelwork of a data centre project. 6 buildings in total!

I have moved onto rendering a walkthrough animation of the project which I anticipate will take at least a month to render.

Re: Good morning team

Good morning all.

A sad start to the day. I heard a commotion on the patio outside my house and found two large dogs savaging one of my cats. The cat has since died. The dogs belong to a neighbour and are normally locked into his garden. Somehow they escaped and found a hole in my fence (that I didn't know about) and the rest is history. My other cats are now in the house and trembling with fear. All in all a bad start to the day. Needless to say I have sent a strongly worded email to my neighbour.

On the crunching front I am expecting my Silver Zika tonight.

Re: Good morning team

Really sorry to hear that Rod. Obviously it won't bring your cat back, but are you afforded any rights of redress under Bolivian law?

Re: Good morning team

No dc there is no law here covering animal vs animal conflicts. Indeed I belive that cock fighting still takes place here although I'm sure that is illegal.

I had a reply from the dog owner (who is in the USA or Spain for a month. He expressed his sincere regret and has spoken to his caretaker to make sure it doesn't happen again. If I wasn't a naturalist then I might consider buying a shotgun. Dogs will be dogs but the fault lies with the dog owner (or the caretaker). A little late to point the finger (or twin barrels) of blame.

By the rate that we seem to be acquiring stray cats, I'm sure that Hansel will be replaced but not forgotten. Meanwhile I'm off to repair the fence.

Sad to read your news about your cat, to be hoped that the caretaker heeds the advice given to him. sad

Re: Good morning team

Good morning all.

Thanks for the words of sympathy for the loss of our cat. Let's hope it is the last time I have to bury one from unnatural causes.

By now you will all have seen (so not a spoiler) that bad luck continues to dog Lewis Hamilton during F1 qualifying. Again an engine problem causing a delayed start in Q3 scuppers his pole position attempt. Lets hope he can jump Rosberg and Riccardo at the start. After last years enforced pit stop (which handed victory to Rosberg) he deserves a win.

Re: Good morning team

Dare I say it, but I've never been a fan of Hamilton, and have been frustrated that Nico is not quite up to taking the fight to him. As such, I've found Lewis's repeated aggressive driving (particularly on the first lap) to be quite annoying, but that's just the racer that he is I suppose. My dislike for him has softened somewhat this year, since he's been very laid back about his run of bad form/luck, and Nico has been more competitive. I did think his sunglasses looked a bit silly in the paddock press pen though smile

I managed a PB for runtime in the last week, with more to come when the new Azure VM's complete a full 7 days by mid-week. Shame that mulliada has left the team though. We need all the members we can get, since we're having a bad run of being overtaken recently (which isn't going to last much longer by the look of it).
