For those using Berkeley's test client, how much space does the client take up before and after attaching to WCG? I have a couple of really old devices with limited space. nativeBOINC rarely has enough space for some projects apps and was wondering if Berkeley's took up less space. If so, I might be able to add 3 more 600MHz cores to the cause.

Coleslaw,
My Nexus 7 is showing 17.25 MB for Berkeley BOINC connected to WCG and running 4 tasks. Hope that helps. |

I just now noticed 2 invalid results for BETA FAHV from my tablet which has been, (and still is), returning nothing but valid work otherwise.
----------------------------------------BETA_ FAHV_ x4I7G_ RT_ NNRTIadj_ wNNRTI_ 0045262_ 0047_ 1-- BETA_ FAHV_ x4I7G_ RT_ NNRTIadj_ wNNRTI_ 0045262_ 0034_ 0-- I also see that these were returned at the same time. This MAY be a problem with BOINC. I left the house for a couple of hours and left the tablet running plugged-in to the wall. When I returned I found it had stopped processing work for no apparent reason. The display was in sleep mode as I had left it. It has been running OK in this mode, in fact I'm doing it now. Once I woke it up BOINC restarted processing. I didn't notice the exact time but it would have been about the same time these two WUs reported. So, my GUESS is that BOINC may have pooched causing the two WUs to prematurely exit; the times were shorter than usual. I say it may have been BOINC rather that the FAAH apps since two WUs were involved at exactly the same time. I have since updated BOINC from 7.2.2 to 7.2.4 and rebooted so the event log is probably gone. Wish I had noticed the two Invalid WUs before doing that. This is the same tablet I've reported before: ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T Android 4.2.1 BOINC 7.2.4 NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad-core 1.6 GHz (ARMv7) Mem: 1GB [Edit 2 times, last edit by gomeyer at Jul 13, 2013 2:51:11 PM] |

Got 7 tasks.
----------------------------------------2 are Valid 2 are Pending Validation 3 are In Progress. EDIT: The 2 Pending Validation tasks were all validated successfully. Now pending are the 3 tasks in progress. I will keep beta testing on my Android Phone. Using HTC EVO 3D (Dual Core). So far it is running great here. It seems to me the BOINC client uses lots of data. My data consumption on 3G was always around 200MB/month (just mail and Whatsapp), and after installation of the BOINC client it takes 50MB a day. Does BOINC compress the data, or is it just a huge amount of (compressed) data?

Haha, this is beta, which is run no matter what, and thank you for testing. If too much, use the bandwidth budget preferences when SN2S and (shortname only ) FAHV move to production.
Default BOINC and servers use on-the-fly compression, both ways. The Android client I'd estimate to do the same [Tasks for Android are sized to device power... much smaller than the PC versions]. Is this BW use info from your ISP or an on-device app measurement? Just curious if again this localhost traffic is measured. |

Short question: is there currently work sent out for Beta testing android?
My client says, there is no work since yesterday evening. Before, I received WUs without problems. My device's fault or general problem? My client also say: "This computer has finished a daily quota of 1 tasks" Could this have something to do with that? |

I'm still getting SN2S tasks for Android. Looks like we are out of AIDS tasks.
When you start a new research project, sometimes WCG will only send you one task until that one validates then it will send you some more. Hope that helps. |
