Re: 25 days of work remaining for Help Conquer Cancer

Although I'm no way a 'big hitter', I've also moved away from grabbing HCC WU's - as I'm now confident that I've gotten enough stored so as to reach my Sapphire badge. As to how many more I'll be able to release, I'll know after the next stats update.

Oh good, I'm glad there was time for you to get to Sapphire!

I should also meet my goal today, so have stopped asking for HCC1. It has been a great ride! :)

Re: 25 days of work remaining for Help Conquer Cancer

I have a personal goal to reach of 13 years cpu time. I need only 120 days of work to reach that goal and some of that work is in PV status.

HCC friends... It's been a lot of fun working on this project. It was for a great cause and was a huge boost to points and results. I will look forward to the next WCG GPU project, and for the mean time, a faster refresh rate on my laptops! wink

Re: 25 days of work remaining for Help Conquer Cancer

Looks like I'll have to go back to my measly 50k ppd trudging. That's some bull hockey man.

I have however already started the hunt for some "new" octo core chips. The retail but used E5-2689, 90 and 87W seem to be selling for around the same prices as used ES versions were last year this time, so around $800 or so for the 2689 - which is only 300mhz slower than the 87w and 15watts cooler.

Given that the EVGA SR-X board is socket 2011 like these chips, it might be the way to go and would give me the head room necessary for any future GPU projects. But we'll see. I don't think I'll do anything until the Fall.
