On the graphics window sizing problem, FAIK all [old style] WCG science graphics [from the client 5 days] have the same fixed pixel width/height, whether shown as normal sized or maximized. On my comp, testing several beta, they open up too small, both width and height. Resizing [drag corner], is not remembered... The next task opened and it's back to the too small size.
----------------------------------------For screensaver purposes, the graphics window is of course full screen, and then the graphics is shown as a bouncing frame. This would be at least the case with FAAH & HPF2. Since I never watch the graphics, can't say which all size to the window frame size, but doing one on HCC1, I get an ellipse shape in full screen. [sizes proportionally with window], so nothing is missing on this one. edit: When maximizing the graphics for this Beta, the image starts left bottom, then shifts spot every once in a while. And for the new hands on deck, grab the virus image with the mouse and drag it around to look at it from different angles... that still works. Are other batches coming out today? There was a trickle yesterday evening.

Interesting... netted 6 while ashleep, then as they were finishing, netted new ones, this time all 14 threads loaded. 7.15 is as was 7.11 a boring beta.
Uplinger / Seippel, could it be the production batches continue through 38199 and the new app will depart from ~38200 or something close to that? I'm figuring [run out] production stock has reached about 38170... not crunching them presently. Prediction was for a swap today or tomorrow, which would make it actually nearer 38175. [Chrystal ball best guesstimate]. |

The swap will actually happen at 38225.

I slept during yesterday's batch, so my insights are from today's:
----------------------------------------- Graphics run smoothly on both Win7 64 7.0.52 i7-3770 and Mac OS X 10.8.2 7.0.31 i5-2500S - Stop / resume (w/o LAIM) worked fine on both The main insights (at least for me): - Unlike 7.11, this app has priority over regular GPU tasks - during 7.11 testing my W7 crunched 12 GPU WU's on 3 CPU cores + 5 CPU Betas (as it is defined in app_config), - While 7.15 is crunching 8 CPU Betas + 4 GPU HCC1's (GPU utilization 77%) and sharing all 8 CPU threads according to their needs (e.g., 100% per CPU thread per Beta WU while HCC1's are in GPU phase, then switching 100% CPU thread to HCC1 task when starting CPU phase and minimizing, but not pausing, share for Beta)! Great, thanks techs Cheers Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Shrubbing@Home since January 5 2006 [Edit 4 times, last edit by branjo at Feb 20, 2013 8:00:54 PM] |

Received 3 of today's batch. Two on x86_64 and one i386 all in progress. All displayed graphics correctly and resumed properly after suspend/resume and system restarts. This is the first batch that runs correctly on the 64 bit systems as cpu time appears to be counted as the WU's progress (please see my earlier posts in this thread). Also, I notice that the tags <pci_info> in the init_data.xml file (probably other xml files as well) was recently fixed.
These are all Linux WU's running on Fedora systems using Fedora repo boinc-client 7.0.29 and running well to date. |

Uplinger,
----------------------------------------Fortunate for you, (not so much for me) I had a brief power outage today that took down 10 systems simultaneously. No errored units showing on my results and everything appears to have resumed from checkpoints without issue. Distributed computing volunteer since September 27, 2000 |

I got only a few of these today, and they are in progress. Graphics work ok. These are on various machines, all 64 bit Ubuntu 12.10 and 11.10, BOINC 7.0.27 and 7.0.42.

The swap will actually happen at 38225. Thanks, -Uplinger Uplinger, Now I wonder, have we only be testing with batches of old build to get these stable on the new app, and then compare the results with same from the old app, or have we also had some pass with the new-build-batches ? [seen betas of 38119-38224] (Leading up to speculation you/we still need to beta the new batches. :P) |
