ETA on GPU project selection?

When will I be able to select GPU WUs alone from the project selection screen, so I can stop aborting all the unwanted CPU WUs?

Re: ETA on GPU project selection?

There's no need to abort the unwanted... follow instructions in the work around topic started by knreed and you would not even get them.

Client side, you'll possibly be able to set the number of each science being buffered in an up and coming client through a new configuration file, for which the server side logic still has to be developed at Berkeley.

Re: ETA on GPU project selection?

Unless something has changed recently the workaround isn't viable for me.

Re: ETA on GPU project selection?

This is what works 100% for me...

Select GPU work, do NOT select HCC. Select at least one other project.....and select send me work from other projects if selected work is not available.
With this you get CPU work for your selected project, but NO CPU work for HCC, and you get GPU work for HCC under the "Send me work if selected not available" rule......works fine for me....

You may want to explore the app_info method as a kind of a surrogate to the functionality of the project-selection screen. If you prefer to work with the project-selection screen and the settings there, the method described under Scribe [Dec 14, 2012 3:33:32 PM] post, should be good as well.

If you want to run only HCC-GPU WUs do this:

Open the Profile assigned to the device

Under "Available Projects" select only Help Conquer Cancer

Select only "If my computer can process work on my graphics card, then please send me work to run on my graphics card for the projects that I have selected above.". Do not select "If there is no work..send me work from another project" or "Please opt me in to new projects as they become available."

Under "Advanced Options" -> "Processor Usage" set "Allow research to run on my CPU?" to "No"

Save the Profile

Re: ETA on GPU project selection?

That's how watertight you can set it today, and yesterday, and the week and month before :D

Thanks Bill P.

Re: ETA on GPU project selection?

* Make sure that you HAVE checked the box for "If there is no work available for my computer for the projects I have selected above, please send me work from another project."

I don't want no CPU work or work from all projects either.

This is from wplachy. He explains how to run HCC GPU only.
