Re: Known Graphics Cards Unable to Participate in the Help Conquer Cancer Research Project

P.S. Your hardware/OS/BOINC/driver combo may be a dud, but the card could be operating fine in different setups, which is why WCG techs are not quick to block a particular GPGPU. They look at the overall success rate which has a very high tolerance [relative high number of errors/invalids allowed, and still having a positive contribution compared to e.g. a CPU].

Re: Known Graphics Cards Unable to Participate in the Help Conquer Cancer Research Project

Hi folks. I've been pondering I have in one of my systems a QuadroFX 4600, it is not listed in either running or non running/ compatible cards listed previously in this thread

BOINC detects the card. Detects the GPU, downloads the appropriate files, namely HCC1's then tries to use the GPU. It fails and decides the GPU is not compatible

Any idea?

TIA

Your card is basically a professional version of the GT 8800, which will also fail on WCG sad

Re: Known Graphics Cards Unable to Participate in the Help Conquer Cancer Research Project

Yeah Thanks Dirk I have read recently that its a pro version (with correct drivers) of the the 8800GT for CAD ONLY with is not compatible with any BOINC work. A shame really. Although with a BIOS flash it can be used as a 8800GT

Thanks for replying anyway :)
