Lets add a little do not try this at home here because I promise you that 230v kills just as easily. I would go so far as to say far more easily.
----------------------------------------The lethality of an electric shock is dependent on Current. The higher the current, the more likely it is lethal. Since current is proportional to voltage when body resistance is fixed (ohm's law), high voltage is an indirect risk for producing higher currents. |

The hertz has a higher synchronicity with the heart-rate which what the old school warning was, and this popped out of a wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_shock . Of course 230V kills too, never ever touching dead wire, no matter what...all my tools are 10,000v rated, and that's the only thing to touch them even if fuses are removed.

I thought it was amps, not volts, that kills. Wrong?

It's a combination. Some people believe it is volts that kill, others believe it is amps that kill. Realize that static electricity is very high voltage, but discharging static into someone does not kill them. There isn't enough amperage there to kill.

No, it has nothing to do with efficiency, it only has to do with where you live. In the United States, outlets output at 115V at up to around 15 amps, in Europe you will find that your power outlets are running at 230v with a much lower amperage, but it equals the same maximum watt output. If you plug a 115V power supply into a 230V outlet it will likely explode, likewise if you plug a 230V power supply into a 115V outlet it will likely die. Some power supplies have switches to switch between the standards. If you've only got access to 115 V it's obvious you'll need to use this, regardless of efficiency. But, at least in some non-residential installations in USA like example server-rooms you've also got the option of 230 V. If it's possible to cheaply get 230 V also in residential USA-homes I've no idea. In many homes in the US, it's possible to get 230V cheaply if you happen to be in a room with a plug-in air conditioner and use the air conditioner's outlet instead of a normal outlet. Will take a special plug for this outlet. For even more power, kitchens in the US with electric stoves usually have a 230V outlet that allows more amperes, using an even bigger plug. For other rooms in US homes, you will probably have to call an electrician to add a 230V outlet to that room. The smaller homes in the US may not have 230V run to the main fusebox or circuit breaker panel; it's more expensive to get 230V in these homes. |

I am not always getting tasks to work on, as others have mentioned. I think we have thrown all the hardware at it that they can use at the moment. They seem to be now limited by servers, etc.

A repeat of what was said elsewhere so I am deleting it.

All 7970s that I have looked at have 3GB, but my 7870 with 2GB is doing okay.
