Peter,
It seems as though your processor is beeing occupied by something of higher priority than your wcg agent. The wcg is defaulted to the lowest possible priority in windows to avoid slowing down your core processes. I suggest that you check: you are not running an antivirus scan you do not have a virus you are not running a process of higher priority - like watching a film or listening to music you processor is not overheating and automatically slowing itself down (internal function of P4 processors) windows is missbehaving - so just reboot the system There are some tools you can use to check your mother board / processor temp here Post back and let us know the outcome. |

I have checked and can state the following :-
I ran a Virus check earlier this evening and it was negative. I do not know how to run films on the PC let alone watch them. I am not listening to any Music, In addition to this it has taken 2hrs 35minsto complete 46% of the unit, and this is fairly normal for this machine. Thanks for the help by the way. |

nice job on the stats...how long till you hit 2nd for overall? ![]() We are a little over 1 million behind TW for 3rd and averaging 30-50K more points a day - so about a month for third. Longer for second. See http://www.team-ninja.com/vbulletin/dc_stats....ct=ttwcg&statsid=9054 Of course if you joined us we could get there faster ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 9, 2005 1:28:15 AM] |

Peter,
start the task manager (on Win2000 you press Ctrl-Alt-Del and click "task manager" -- should be similar on XP or whatever you use). When the task manager is up, select "processes" and click on the "CPU usage" tab to sort all processes by CPU usage. The Rosetta process should eat up most CPU resources. If it doesn't, something with higher prio is running. Tell us the name of the process blocking Rosetta and we tell you if you really need it. Best, Stefan. |

Hi David,
boy, your hands must hurt like hell from the firm grasp on my burning coat tails... Catching up?? Considering your screwdriver talent you will more likely run out of cheap motherboards in the UK But try -- I promise not to add any machines until the Linux client is out. Then, however, I will switch to warp 10 .Best, Stefan. |

LOL
---------------------------------------- I've got the crunching bug again This has got to be the way to get another cruncher on the go http://uk.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=...model=378&modelmenu=1 I'm scoring 151 overall on this machine with a 3000+ Barton I have discovered one thing though. If you don't have at least a 10Gb drive you don't get a 10Gb score for storage. I built this one with an "ancient" 5Gb Maxtor that's been sitting on my bookshelf for some time. Have a great day Happy Crunching Dave ![]() ![]() |
