Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

Would like to know what to do with the WU's stuck at 99.415?
So far that means all of them!

Re: Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

Only 1 beta is running for me so far -- stuck at 99.415% same as previous poster reported. The first 99% completed in about 5 minutes; then the WU hung.

BOINC 7.0.28
Windows 7 64 bit
AMD Radeon HD 7660D (the GPU component of the A10-5700 Fusion chip)

Re: Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

I Received 7 WU on HD 4890 & HD 4650.
they all resulted in an error.
I think these graphic cards will not support the GPU computing for HCC :(

To my knowledge they all hang at 99% for a bit while the CPU finishes with its part of the calculation. Mine all hang for about a minute before finishing up, then finish successfully.

@ryan222h Thanks. Yes that is happening now for me for some WU. But 14 minutes seems to long for some other WU's.
I wonder if NVIDIA PhysX is the problem.
Windows 7, 2 NVDIA GTX560T1, no SLI disabled, PhysX on CPU

Re: Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

All eight completed successfully for me on a pair of Radeon HD 7770s, running on a Core2 Duo at 3.0 GHz (all stock speeds). No mouse lag or other screen problems noted, even though the CPU runs at around 95% when that part is active (the GPUs at around 85%). I am running Win7 64-bit.

The average time was 2 minutes 42 seconds.

Re: Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

The CPU only versions of HCC standard hold the progress percent for a few minutes at 99.818%. That would be the normal end step applying same to the GPU tasks, when they revert to do the completion on the CPU.

I'm sure this was reported before where the "to complete" time for CPU WUs is affected. The normal runtime for SN2S is normally 4 hrs on an i7 but is now 17hrs & increasing

Re: Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

I have now successfully returned two, which are PV.

I shut down BOINC and then rebooted the machine while one was hung at 99.415%. When BOINC came back up, the WU showed 0% completed, and it didn't increment while I was watching. I suspended it and resumed it, and it still wasn't incrementing. However, when I came back 10 minutes later, it had uploaded. The status on the BOINC web page shows three OpenCL initializations.

One other WU ran straight through. I wasn't there to watch how long it hung at 99.415%, but it definitely wasn't as long as the first one had (I came back and it was done after less time than the first one hung). I think whether the BOINC Manager is running may affect the length of the hang.

I just checked, and the one that is currently running has been stuck at 99.415% for 5 minutes.

I am not seeing an effect on runtime or expected runtime of the CFSW units that are running concurrently.
