Looks like there's still many error issues. Fortunately I didn't encounter any this time but judging by the amount of resends I received there's still problems.

@nanoprobe
----------------------------------------The resends are due to incompatible hardware - this is based on what I see on my wingmen. |

I ended up with 18 completed, all valid (two HD 7770s, BOINC 7.0.33).
This beta seems to be finished. At least I have not gotten any for over a day, or maybe they are sending them out to other cards now. |

Hello Jim1348
----------------------------------------Reference: Jim1348 [Sep 14, 2012 10:42:08 AM] post Got your point, thanks to the supplied The one-machine-per-grid approach is the logical start because of the simplicity, akin to having only one-OS per-machine. Wanting something more than what that simplicity affords, we explore the one-machine-across-grids approach, akin to having a machine host multiple-OSes. The analogy may not be perfect, but the idea is there. ; ; edit1_2012.09.15Sa.0816.utc ; -- typo ; [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 15, 2012 8:16:21 AM] |

andzgrid,
I agree that simplicity is good during the beta, to find what works for sure. More variations can be tried later when the WUs come more steadily. |

There is the 2 options to narrow the CPU/GPU and/or selection: 1) If my computer can process work on my graphics card, then please send me work to run on my graphics card for the projects that I have selected above. 2) "Allow research to run on my CPU?" Yes/No Latter is broken at this time it appears from various reports [changes don't stick] Thus, if you select HPF2 and GPU [not HCC] and you'd combine that with the option: 3) If there is no work available for my computer for the projects I have selected above, please send me work from another project. Logic would be that any GPU work would be send for an idle GPU recourse, speak for HCC GPU. No testing possible as there is no GPU work in production. Rather complex, but we know that, the techs too, until they get around redesigning and make the structure more matrix oriented. Thanks for the info! Yes, I see this as a work-around. What I meant was, it would be great with like check-boxes next to each project in the profile manager where I can tick "Receive GPU WUs" and "Receive CPU WUs". That would be all that is needed :) Join The International Team: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=CK9RP1BKX1 AMD TR2990WX @ PBO, 64GB Quad 3200MHz 14-17-17-17-1T, RX6900XT @ Stock AMD 3800X @ PBO AMD 2700X @ 4GHz |

Hello flodisar
Reference: flodisar [Sep 15, 2012 10:06:09 PM] post Yup, that would be a table/matrix presentation of the options in settings -- the most straightforward method for anyone to scope out the logic behind the available options. Realistically, not all the options may be workable, not at the start anyway. The WCG_Techs/Admin need only blur out those options it is not quite ready/able/willing to implement, but the presentation of options need to be there, blurred or not, as that would help guide crunchers in scoping out the logic as to what the available options would result into, and help WCG-Techs to frame the logic that would go into the said table/matrix. Over time, as realities collide with plans, and as realities influence existing constraints, some options may have to go and/or other options may have a chance to come in. ; |
