Re: Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

ditto 50+ extra wu's although cache was full, boinc insisted on starting jobs with high priority due 19.9.12 and would not start the beta task due 16.9.12 @ 18:52:22 with 18:47:45 CPU, set no new tasks and wait to see what happens when task becomes overdue

OS Vista 64 bit
version 6.10.58
ATI HD 4350

Regards David

Re: Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

ditto 50+ extra wu's although cache was full,

I am not an expert on BOINC, but I expect that was fixed in the latest version (7.0.36; not really released yet, but it works fine for me).

client: when we're making a scheduler RPC for a reason other than work fetch, and we're deciding whether to piggyback a work request, skip the checks for hysteresis (buffer < min) and for per-resource backoff time. These checks are there only to limit the rate of RPCs, which is not relevant since we're doing one any. This fixes a bug where a project w/ sporadic jobs specifies a next_rpc_delay to ensure regular polling from clients. When these polls occur they should request work regardless of backoff.

client: tweak to the above: never ask for work if buffer > max. This is needed to prevent projects that use next_rpc_delay from queuing unbounded work.

Re: Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

I have 2 WU but they are not running.
At the status i can see Waitint to run (1.00 CPUs + 1.00 NVIDIA GPUs).
My regular WUs are running as always but those are just waiting forever.

Do you have another GPU project running? Try suspending that project & see if they run.

Re: Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

Outcome #3: Too much noise from outcome #1 above. We will be clearing out this run later today (in about 3 hours) and preparing for another run to look for additional issues without the noise of bad cards.

Hmm... Does that mean we can expect that 'another run' to occur starting at around 2012.09.17Mo.2100.utc*?

Notes
*knreed post date/time-stamp Sep 17, 2012 5:57:24 PM + 3hrs = approx. 2012.09.17Mo.2100.utc -- which is about forty(40)-minutes from now (2012.09.17Mo.2020.utc).

Re: Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

I just got 5 at 6:32 EST (22:32 GMT). I did that by suspending my other project (POEM), but I am going to just let it run automatically now and pick up want it wants. That is because I am pretty sure that my cards are working OK now (HD 7770s), and there is no point in taking them away from others that might more usefully test them.

Re: Beta test For HCC - GPU v 6.50

I have had to reduce my CPU tasks to DDDT2 only to prevent the buildup of CPU tasks.
So far I have not seen any exit code 293 errors: 6 valid and 4 pending valuation

Hello flodisar

Yup, that would be a table/matrix presentation of the options in settings -- the most straightforward method for anyone to scope out the logic behind the available options. Realistically, not all the options may be workable, not at the start anyway. The WCG_Techs/Admin need only blur out those options it is not quite ready/able/willing to implement, but the presentation of options need to be there, blurred or not, as that would help guide crunchers in scoping out the logic as to what the available options would result into, and help WCG-Techs to frame the logic that would go into the said table/matrix. Over time, as realities collide with plans, and as realities influence existing constraints, some options may have to go and/or other options may have a chance to come in.

Yep, true, true! Reality is always more complex than theory. Anyway, now we are just waiting for production status so that we can dig in! :)
