I just checked, and the one that is currently running has been stuck at 99.415% for 5 minutes. I am not seeing an effect on runtime or expected runtime of the CFSW units that are running concurrently. That is probably your problem. CFSW is taking your CPU time. Don't run anything except HCC beta and see what happens. (It may not be practical until the beta is over and they start the full project.) |

WOW, other than one WU I have previously had to abort tasks or had errors ..this time around I was so excited to see I got 67 work units, 58 valid and 9 pending validation. Since I didn't change anything on my end assume the changes you made last week made the difference ..this is so exciting, all finished in approx 1 minute 40 seconds. Only minor issue, it cut my completion times for CFSW in half :-) so I got a few extra WUs earlier than anticipated.

CFSW is taking your CPU time. Don't run anything except HCC beta and see what happens. HCC GPU automatically free a CPU core while it is running. Something else is using your CPU A few weeks ago, I was trying to get some WCG jobs to run in addition to POEM, another OpenCL GPU project that supposedly takes up a CPU core. I found that I could get some of the WCG projects to run, and not others. But if they did run, then that WCG project took up most of the CPU resources and POEM ran very slowly. So if HCC acts like that, then even though it is supposed to reserve a core for its own use, it might not in all cases. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Jim1348 at Sep 14, 2012 2:12:51 AM] |

If the very-high-percentage of validly-evaluated done beta-HCC-GPU_v6.49-WUs under my WCG-account for my Win-machine is any indication, I expect little to no beta-HCC-GPU_v6.50-WUs to come to the said Win-machine. Good.

We are starting a new round of beta testing. This round is to accomplish three goals: 1) We have broaden the types of graphics card that will be able to download work. We are using this to confirm which cards should be allowed to receive work when we go to production. 2) We are confirming that the server change we made last week works as expected. 3) We are looking for other issues that we might have missed in previous rounds due to the bigger issues we were looking at. thanks, Kevin The problem of downloading CPU tasks even though the CPU cache is filled is not fixed. I have 5 PCs running a 0.5 day cache that pulled GPU Betas. Once a GPU Beta is started the PC begins to download additional CPU tasks even though it has a full CPU cache and continues to download CPU tasks as long as there is a GPU Beta active. Those PCs should have ~668s WUs cached. As of now there are 2809 WUs running or waiting to run on them. Client: 6.10.58 OS: Win7 (64) & XP (32) GPU: AMD & NVidia

If someone already posted this, I missed it...
I received a total of 9 WUs, all of them failed quickly ... and some my wingmen had the same sort of thing happen: BETA_ X0000038270103200409250028-- 201209132116350_ 5 650 Valid 9/13/12 22:58:39 9/13/12 23:10:06 0.01 56.1 / 56.1 BETA_ X0000038270103200409250028-- 201209132116350_ 4 650 Error 9/13/12 22:53:12 9/13/12 22:58:23 0.00 56.1 / 0.0 BETA_ X0000038270103200409250028-- 201209132116350_ 3 650 Error 9/13/12 22:50:18 9/13/12 22:53:07 0.00 56.0 / 0.0 BETA_ X0000038270103200409250028-- 201209132116350_ 2 650 Error 9/13/12 22:47:33 9/13/12 22:50:13 0.00 56.0 / 0.0 BETA_ X0000038270103200409250028-- 201209132116350_ 1 650 Error 9/13/12 22:46:09 9/13/12 22:47:28 0.00 56.0 / 0.0 BETA_ X0000038270103200409250028-- 201209132116350_ 0 650 Valid 9/13/12 22:46:03 9/13/12 23:33:25 0.04 56.1 / 56.1 Result Log Result Name: BETA_ X0000038271146200409250010-- 201209132116350_ 1 <core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> - exit code -1073741515 (0xc0000135) </message> ]]> - D |

wplachy I was running 6.10.60 and the same happened. Swiched to 7.0.28 and all the recent beta's went smooth and validated. no extra cpu task. Had to of course reduced the processors down to 87.50 on the i7 w7 64bit pc. Still jerky when going on the internet or doing anything else; but better than previous beta's.
24 beta total |
