Well gang. I have been holding out on buying parts for and building a new cruncher. I have been saving my pennies for another big GPU.

As it turns out, I have this new case on a shelf. And I have a 500GB WD hard drive. And I have this CPU Cooler (CoolerMaster V8). And I have this CD drive. And I have this Power Supply. And I have some extra memory. <Edit>Also an old but works fine video card.</edit>

So I get this email from NewEgg saying they have this special on an I7/3770K and I am thinking that if I add a motherboard (e.g. a GA-Z77MX-D3H), I could build a new cruncher that would be my fastest one...wait they also have a good deal on 8GB of G.SKill Ripjaws X Series memory and I only have 2GB not being used.

Long Story, not any longer, the latter part of next week, I have another cruncher to put together.

As an uninteresting sidelight, I have run out of good character names from the LOTR in naming computers so I am thinking that I need to pick a new scheme. I am considering naming this new one Jabba.

I think I should be thanked by all those who are really into GPU crunching. By the same logic that you cause rain by washing your car, we should not now begin to see the introduction of HCC GPU into the mainstream.
