Okay, I'm back and have the stats caught up here. I still have the team challanges to catch up but that will be in the morning.
----------------------------------------First off, a very big thank you to RT for grabbing the stats data once AGAIN. RT's always been very generous about helping out with that. It would really be nice to have someone else that could help out and give RT a break now and then. As for the server problems back on Friday, we basically switched August and September so August had 30 days and September will have 31. It would be nice if I could say that Saturday was just a double day and there was no real impact on us aside from the time delay. Looking at the numbers though, I'd estimate we lost out on about 100,000 to 200,000 points we otherwise would have had. That is probably mainly from folks that run the projects with the "normal" run time lengths (unlike CFSW's short WUs) and were unable to report their completed tasks in the short windows after the outage and, mainly, beforehand simply because they didn't get as many opportunities to report them. Not that this is unique to us here at MOT. It's probably true for everyone. RT, good to see you figure out the performance matter with your new Atoms. Makes sense too. Hindsight is so wonderful! Judson, good to hear from you here again. Hope your busy-ness was pleasent and enjoyable! |

RT, I am so glad to be back also. I'm cranking out CFSW results while I can. Then I will probably go back to crunching all of the projects. Isn't one of them also about to end? Is it HCC or HFCC?

RT, I am so glad to be back also. I'm cranking out CFSW results while I can. Then I will probably go back to crunching all of the projects. Isn't one of them also about to end? Is it HCC or HFCC? Dr. Mike I can't tell you for sure which other project in WCG may be about to end as I have been giving CFSW my full computing power. This morning I am at 1 year 241 days before getting the sapphire for that one. I just checked the status from University of Virginia and 82% Complete as of August 30, 2012! About 14,000 batches out of 17,000 have been finished! The project is estimated to finish in about 11 weeks at the current rate. I tend to think that CFSW will be finished it much less time than 11 weeks. I would say to keep on crunching since you don't know what may happen to the project at the university. |
