Hi all. I have a server box with Win2008 and WCG/Boinc 6.10.58. WCG has been running great for about 9 months and sometime in the past few weeks has stopped crunching. We sometimes remote into this box using Windows Remote Desktop as the Administrator but WCG was installed as the Administrator...it is not running as a Service...just as the normal client.
----------------------------------------The Messages tab states "GPUs have become unusable; disabling tasks" as well as "No usable GPUs found". I have numerous other WinXP and Win7 boxes that are still running just fine. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling WCG/boinc but that did not help. Do you know how to fix this?...and why it happened in the first place? Thanks in advance! ![]() |

Hi...I looked at that thread before posting...I should have mentioned it. But there is no solution in that thread.
----------------------------------------1)I have 0 tasks...it won't even get new tasks 2)I've been Remote Desktoping into this box for 9 months and until very recently it has always worked. Maybe some MS Win2008 patch messed things up. 3)That thread is 3 years old...and the latest Boinc is creeping on a year old...hasn't BOINC made an effort to fix this problem? I don't really need to RDP into it and watch it...I just noticed on my stats that the box hasn't reported anything for weeks so I knew something was wrong...so I RDP'd in to see what was amiss. ![]() |

Maybe some MS Win2008 patch messed things up. Perhaps but I'm thinking vid driver. Did you or MS update your video driver since the last time you used RD? What is your GPU and what is the driver number. Sorry, I can't find a solution thread anywhere. (I have to admit I have one eye on BING and the other one on NASCAR qualifying )![]() ![]() |

I don't have access to the physical box...but Device Manager states it is the Standard VGA Graphics Adapter....again, Win2008 64bit.

I can see the log in the GUI but where is the log file on the computer? I don't see it in c:\program files(x86)\boinc

Hi ericinboston,
And you can look in ProgramData/BOINC/stdoutdae.txt. This is where the interesting files, such as slot/ all are. Lawrence |

If it is using Standard VGA Adapter, then it isn't using your video cards drivers. I would reinstall them or physically verify the card is functioning.
