Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Per the Task Manager on my W7-64 we're definitely getting 32 bit science apps.

The processing time at stock 2400Mhz of my Q6600 continues to be flat @ 4.35 hours (range 4.34-4.36)

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

How can one task be declared invalid and another one valid when task has only be crunched twice. Shouldn't a third be sent out to compare results?

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Given that this is a Zero Redundant science i.e. really only one *valid* copy needed, this can be a quorum 2 outcome. Post a copy of the quorum detail and we can see if the validation path went via a inconclusive state (second copy send after ther first was returned).

Unfortunately that task is no longer on my results page but I now have another that shows me as inconclusive and the second as in progress. What comparison is being used to declare a task inconclusive?

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Definitely XP bad W7 good for these jobs (updated my last post with findings).

Agreed. Win7 64 bit, 3 hours on 2600k machines, 4 1/2 hours on 860 machines. 6 1/2 hours on XP 32 bit with the same hardware as 860.

? A set of validation criteria are being tested, to include if the result was tampered with and various other control algorithms. If not matching all of the prerequisites, the Inconclusive flag is set and a second copy requested for processing. If both match each other, [presume] they are declared valid [not sure if that is true]. If the second is different to the first, but matches the validation criteria, then the first is deemed invalid [in layman terms]. This cycle is continued till one copy does meet the conditions or when 5 copies are all failing the test.
