Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

My first ones have completed now; all close to 4 hours. Another well behaved project with good checkpoint/run times, 3 second uploads and runs good with MW GPU. The graphics look like election returns in New England but I will not take away points for that. wink Good job on the launch WCG. applause

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

I have one running fine now. It's using 250+ MB of memory, so this is something to consider if running several CFSW jobs at the same time.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

@Dataman, I had to look at the graphics after your comment, lol. For best graphics for a project, I'm honestly going to have to give that to either the FightAids@home, HPF2, or my favorite saver currently Einstein's app, which shows a celestrial sphere, in real time, with the location of the known pulsars and supernovae rementents, as well as the constellations, and the location in which your WU is currently examining. It's quite impressive.

EDIT: Back to the thread topic; Just in case they don't post in forums. One WU im currently on is up to 4 replication, w/ one PV, and im finishing it up currently. Anyways one that errored out showed this:

1) CreateProcess() failed - A required privilege is not held by the client. (0x522)

The other showed this: too many exit(0)s

This makes my Beta that's still in PV seem a little useless.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Between the few WUs I received so far, there's one that has already failed on two wingmen. One error is the "too many exit(0)s" and the other is the following:

I don't know if mine is running fine, I can't check that PC until later. Is it weird that a resend (copy _3) has the same 10 days deadline?

The results will be sent to the project scientists.

Considering that no computers can be considered reliable for this science, it would be counterproductive to label those as repair units as they would not be sent out until there were reliable hosts. Such is the nature of WCG since the server software upgrade. Every new science must validate every computer separately for reliability.

Expect the techs to change that rule in a week or two when there are actually hosts that can handle repair work.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Not really a problem ... but:

Result Name App Version Number Status Sent Time Time Due /
Return Time CPU Time (hours) Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit
cfsw_ 0002_ 00002113_ 1-- 605 Valid 17/04/12 17:53:59 18/04/12 03:11:45 0.00 83.6 / 83.4
cfsw_ 0002_ 00002113_ 0-- 605 Valid 17/04/12 17:53:02 18/04/12 04:38:35 7.39 83.3 / 83.4

My wingman seems to have zero CPU hours and this makes me wonder.
Regards,
Stephan

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

I'm seeing something unexpected with the quota system for my CFSW WUs. Neither of my 2 machines has returned a CFSW WU yet, so I was expecting a quota of 2 WUs per core to start with. My 4-core i5 should have a quota of 8 WUs total, but has 11 downloaded. My 1-core AMD should have only 2 WUs, but has 3 downloaded (and its Messages is saying "...daily quota of 2 tasks"). Is someone playing about with the quota system, or does something need fixing?
Edit: The 4-core i5 (no HT) now has 17 WUs downloaded and subsequently is saying "This computer has finished a daily quota of 2 tasks" confused
