That's the "Official" launch I think.

My HT P4 took 14 hours elapsed time, 10 hours cpu time. I think I will have to retire it after HCC and C4CW are over.
----------------------------------------Edit: I forgot, it has a HD 5670 in it that crunched a bunch of GPU betas. I would keep it if I could crunch WCG GPU WUs and not CPU WUs. [Edit 1 times, last edit by deltavee at Apr 13, 2012 10:08:43 PM] |

Seven boxes, 26 cores, snagged a whopping two Beta tasks. (Let's see, seventy-five y.o. now; at this rate, if I live to a full century, perhaps I'll log a month's worth of Beta work ...)
Both completed normally. 3h30m on Q9550 (stock speed). |

Completed one beta on an I7 950 in 3:55:37 (six CEP2 tasks running simultaneously with it) and one beta on an I7 2600K in 3:13:55 (seven CEP2 tasks running simultaneously with that one)...both successfully here, pending validation.
One more in queue locally. |

Hello ibsteve2u,
When we first started using BOINC, we would occasionally run into problems with BOINC allocating shared memory, which tended to be a scarce resource. I have not seen any shared memory problems for years. ? a device driver problem or a sign that reboot is needed? I have no idea. I will keep an eye out for more shared memory problems. Lawrence |

Hello ibsteve2u, This thing using the GPU? Or is that an...artifact? A number of BOINC messages are not precise where precison is needed* so I'm guessing that ERROR: could not initialize graphics pointer in shared memory may be just another of those messages.------------ *For ex: Reporting 4 completed tasks, not requesting new tasks: GPU task? CPU task? The cruncher is assumed to learn the context and next shut up! I personally prefer explicit and precise statements that minimizes, if not eliminates, the reliance on context for proper rendering of meaning in messages. </comment> ; |

Third and final beta completed here on an I7 980X in 3:37:00 elapsed (9 CEP2 tasks "and some other things" running simultaneously with it) - successful, pending validation.
----------------------------------------Makes me wish my Q9550 would have pulled one...here, at least, the Intel I7 series doesn't seem to have any problems with this beta with the note that no betas here had to run under any memory constraints and all of them were in a "use CPU always" configuration. (Edit: All betas here ran under Win7 Ultimate x64.) [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 14, 2012 10:23:09 AM] |
