devilish
A new server bug. I have reported it to the WCG staff.

Here is the thread about this: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,32772

Our fixes to old problems lead to new problems that need fixing.

Whee . . !!

It it just me or is Results Status keeping Valid results for a lot less time. I thought it was 2-4 days before but now it looks like it's only 12 hours or less.

Knreed has addressed this question as well in another thread somewhere. Give him time to catch the major bugs and the cosmetic ones such as this will have to wait.

Ah great! Thanks. I had thought that thread related to those results lost when the servers first stated coming up after the upgrade. I can certainly live with cosmetic stuff like this. Like you say, they have more urgent stuff to do first. I usually don't look at valid results in my Results Status. Only noticed this now due to the problem with tonight's stats run.

I'm not sure whether this is an aftermath of the server software upgrade, but here's an odd points outcome:

qc405_ 00040_ 14-- system76-pc Valid 3/6/12 01:03:58 3/10/12 20:39:34 10.54 0.0 / 263.0

Hard to believe that my machine actually claimed 0 points.

Re: Server Software Upgrade issues, Mar-6-2012 ~14:30 UTC - 21:00 UTC

Thought I should report this in case it is any use to the techs, given recent problems.

I have reused an OLD Device name, the NEW device claims the OLD devices run time/points generated/results returned as its own, in addition to its own time/result/point data.

I thought this wasnt possible, there was discussion about it recently, something about each device gets one ID linked to its results?

Hello sunfolk,
It is possible to reuse an old device name if there is enough similarity in configuration to convince the server that they are the same. I do not know if the server change we have just made has changed that code. Something more to find out about the recent update.
