Task SN2S_AAB20796_0000006_1195_1 had a 48 minute time to check point, whereas some other SNTS tasks were as low as 6 or 7 minutes.
@Sekerob And even with those 4MB file sizes, the explanatory small text on the images is almost unreadable on my hires screen. |

Got since 16:21 UTC, about dozen tasks that are quorum complete but do not get into the validator queue, when later tasks with quorum do validate. Some samples of quorum with time that they were ready for checking:

At end of every position included in a task... each position having a variable run time [non-deterministic calculations]. See FAQs in Start Here to read detail and ways to increase the minimum interval of saving these to disk.
----------------------------------------A current task I have has 52 ligands noted in the header (see tasks slot stderr.txt file), with a 4 hour run time projection, meaning about one per 4.6 minutes average for this task. --//-- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 1, 2012 9:54:46 AM] |

Hi Everybody,
----------------------------------------since a couple of days, I experienced numerous invalid SN2S WUs on an Athlon II based CPU on Ubuntu 10.04 x64, boinc 6.10.17. At the beginning of the project there was no problem. The troubles appeared with some WUs distributed from 2012-02-27. Unfortunately, I don't have all the WU ID (already removed from the statistic), e.g.:
Is it maybe an affinity problem? Cheers, Yves |

An affinity problem? More like a persistent problem AMD has with VINA. Don't think that is going to get fixed lest it snowballs... the invalid, essentially that the 2 wingman, often Intel meeting AMD but also AMD-AMD, produce slightly different results, so much so that the random wingman lets the validation tip one or the other's way.
----------------------------------------BTW, 6.10.17? Don't fix what's not broken, but if this is on Linux, pretty plz upgrade. This is a generally poorly benchmarking release (on Linux), meaning it's understating the FLOPS it processes. --//-- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 3, 2012 4:29:12 PM] |

Are all of the older BOINC versions requesting/getting huge points?

Hi SekeRob,
----------------------------------------I have other AMD based hosts (Phenom II x6) without a similar problem at this time (I have to touch wood since it could happen in the next time) .Regarding updating Boinc, which depot should I use: WCG or Ubuntu ? In the past (18 months ago), I experienced troubles with the installation of the WCG version, for this reason I used the Ubuntu depot. Cheers, Yves |

The Ubuntu Synaptic Depot offers 6.12.33 for probably a year now if not longer. It's on my Ubuntu 11.10 (was on 11.04) and before that had 6.10.59 that was offered for 10.10/10.04. The official port RPMs are said to better integrate into the OS... never an issue (but the always present WIFI weakness on Ubuntu)

There are 7 threads at the developers forum of this seemingly first 5.10 official release... did not last long. Hopefully that inflating goes away when next week the Server gets upgraded... March 6, coming with a 6.5 hour outage, case you had not seen. See post by knreed (Mar.02) discussing objective and hurdles on this big event. --//-- |
