Rej good luck! Make sure after surgery you drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet! I am sure I will raise a storm but frankly do not care, take 30,000 IU's of Vitamin D3 a day for next couple months! Literature in medicine, I am sure all who criticize me are well read in such!!!! Supports that many cancers are more aggressive in those with low levels of this vitamin! RT glad your back. I'm not going to disagree with Judson on this but I won't agree either. I just don't know enough to say either way. What I do want to say is to stay aware of your body anytime you start taking anything new. Listen to what your body tells you. We're not all the same and we all react in different ways. I had been taking just 2000 IUs of D3 for a month or so when I started having occasional episodes of anxiety. When I quit taking the D3, that stopped. Doesn't prove causation but I'm convinced there was a correlation. My thyroid condition was probably a factor. |

Great advice KeithHenry! Often doctors do not want to speak badly of a colleague especially if a friend. Also frequently doctors do not see first hand like nurses do that person operate or perform the surgery or procedure. Usually more times the doctor performs the procedure the better. Well, nurses are next in line behind the patient in dealing with the consequences of the doctor's work. Now it can be tough getting a nurse to tell you which docs to avoid since they don't want to have to deal with the fallout from that doc if it gets back to them. However, the more hesitant, lukewarm or ambivilent they are in their response, the more cause you have for concern. When they think a doc is really good, it will show in their response. Trouble is, you normally don't get to deal with the nurses until after you've the doc has done their work. One good technique to use is, when a doctor wants to refer you to a specialist, ask them who they would use if they or a family member had your condition. |

For years I have been fighting cancer for everyone. Next week, I will be doing it for myself. If you see my numbers going down it will be because I will not have access to my machines. So if something appends they will have to wait until I get back on my feet. I donât intend to rejoin our friend Dave Bell. I am a little worried because I asked about my surgeon to find if he was good. Twice I was told he has lots of experience! Not much of a referral. It like being told he is the best in the village. I will come back in a week or so. Rej Good Morning MOT Rej. The very best to you. You know we will all be thinking of you. I think that your attitiude will serve you well. I undersand that like most everything else, the way that you look at it has a lot do with how your body copes. I wish there were some way we could help. Oh and I agree with the others. Getting someone that deals with the kind of problem you have is very important. The guy that replaced my knee replaces something over 5 per week. As far as I can tell, he did a teriffic job on mine and now I am home and doing much better. All of you guys advice has been spot on. Yes, I am dealing with range of motion limits now. I am at 7 and 87 and the goal is 0 120. That is the most painful part. I have the nifty cold water machine the leg flexer ect. They make life a lot more livable. I am very confident in an excellent outcome at this point. Congratulations Gerald, Judson, Daeloan and Dubhain!!!! Everyone have a great day and send your well wishes to Rej. One of your friends in Texas ![]() RT, GREAT to hear from you so soon! Glad things are going so well. It is so true when it comes to rehab that no pain, no gain. The trick though is to do enough without overdoing it. That's where the skill and experience of the PT comes in! |
