We both have an i7-2700k.
I believe mine will go higher than 4.7 I'm just not ready to to try it now.
First I want to get all of my badges caught up to sapphire and some air cooling updates completed.

Does your mobo have Intel Rapid Storage Technology?
Mine does and I have an SSD drive in a Raid configuration.
It really speeds up the performance.

Have you read this thread about a program that helps with WCG stats?

It is written by a WCG cruncher that is a programmer.
I downloaded it and like it.
You can do a lot in the program but if that is not enough it is easy to export to Excel.

My Mother Board does support Intel Rapid Storage Technology and I do have a solid state drive, BUT currently IRST only works with Windows, and I have Linux installed. That said, I DO have Ubuntu installed on my SSD, along with all of the programs I run, so I do get quite a bit of advantage out of the SSD. I have 3 500 GB drive configured as RAID 5 (which gives me 1TB of storage and allows one drive to go bad without losing any data) for my "slow storage", which is where I store my data. I currently have WCG pointing to the "slow storage" for the "projects" and "slots" directory, to avoid some wear and tear on my SSD. I suppose I could try changing this to see what kind of improvement I get.

On my i7 > BOINC Manager > Statistics > Show host average it ranges from 6,000-7,100.
Divide your i7 host average by 100 and you have the Performance in Gflops in your signature; the portion that the i7 is producing.
So I am getting 60-71 Gflops, which equals or exceeds my other four PCs contributions.
BTW, the Performance number varies so I don't think it has much value.
Can you say irrelevant?
Run the CPU benchmarks in the Advanced tab and look them up in the event log.
Now you have something that can be used to compare performance between your PCs and other member's PCs.
It has a solid basis in reality and you can question how it is calculated without being personally assaulted.

It would be swell if I took my i7 and added a super-duper graphics card to do HCC GPU crunching.
However, don't know what cards do/don't work and the more I read the more questions I have.
Yes, my research produced lots of questions and no answers.
Is there anyone that has run the HCC GPU Beta successfully?
Either way can you tell me if your card passes or fails?
I hate to spend hundreds of dollars on a GPU card that I have no use for except crunching, unless I know it will work.
Without help I will most likely buy a GTX 480 because it is a good performer for the current price.
There is no desire to buy a new kepler with a baziilion cores/shaders/etc...in it.
Just want to participate in GPU crunching for cancer.

I'm with you on the graphics card question. There's a thread in the Beta forum that the tech's updated with the cards that worked and the cards that didn't for the first round of GPU testing. In some cases the same card is in both lists (sigh). I'm going to keep my eye on that list and hope they keep it up to date as they go through each round of testing.

If I recall correctly to run the GPU on a W7 PC you have to be running the 64-bit software.
And, you cannot run as a service because the software cannot find the GPU if you do.
I wish they had a FAQ that answered the questions.
Did find this, thanks to member brinktastee, look for a list of compatible DP cards at the bottom of the second post.

It shows the GTX 480 as double precision and compatible with BOINC.
