Was it shipped from Sweden - or maybe China - since the freight was so expensive?
And now I better understand your set up with everything coffee related - you have nowhere else to put it than your desk When I was in Rhode Island I was not aware of any of two the big German discount stores being present in the USA: ALDI and Lidl My coffee comes from Lidl, a very refined blend of Guatemalan, Kenyan and Columbian beans - never tasted anything so good before, and I have drunk it by the bucket for years - and I do try other brands now and then to check my tastebuds It's Lidl's most expensive brand, but Lidl being a discount chain, it's affordable ![]() |

It was marked Sweden but shipped from the US.
----------------------------------------This is a large house and besides my desk there are 4-5 places the coffee makers could be located. i like to keep my stuff handy. We have ALDI based out of Batavia, IL, I used to live on the Fox River in St. Charles, IL just a couple miles upstream. ALDI's coffee is cheap but I have had better. Commuting to Denmark for Lidi's coffee is out of the question. However, if it so good you drink it by the bucket maybe I should reconsider.

I'm sure you're mightily well organised, rcc.
Lived in Illinois, too, did you! So you do have Aldis in Illinois! I didn't know. They will probably be in several states then. Are there any in Georgia? I recommended my current Captain consulting you about some campaigning issues he has baking in his thoughts. I hope that's OK? You can drink Aldi's Gourmet Coffee. Just bought a packet to measure against my LIDL one. It was better than I remembered - but LIDL's is still the winner - and should you ever come in the Danish airspace - I'll make sure you shall smell the coffee, rcc ![]() |

ALDI is in Georgia. Not sure how they do it as I have never seen more than 2 employees in the store and it is usually just 1 person at checkout.
----------------------------------------I would be happy to consult with anyone regarding campaigning. I'll try the ALDI gourmet. My family has a friend in Aalborg that we lost contact with. I don't travel much anymore so it is not likely I will make it to Europe.

Travel is not so fun if you cannot trust your body entirely.
I have actually never been to Aalborg myself, and had planned to late summer in connection with a political meeting I'll go to tomorrow. That was postponed because a general election was called, and now it's too late with the dark creeping in at 1600-1700, sometimes it doesn't get light for real an entire day. Let me know how you like Aldi Gourmet, rcc, please. Aldi is shaven down to the bone staff wise and otherwise - also their selection is not big, and their produce, well ... But their 4-ply toiletpaper with the irresistable light blue humpback whale print and other selected items are fine. grumpygrampy, hello! Yes bitter coffee is not nice. Often a sign that they mixed in too much of the inexpensive Robusta. One way to measure how good a blend is, is to try to drink it cold. If it still tastes good, it's a good coffee ![]() |

I don't travel because I have a job that keeps me busy.
----------------------------------------ALDIs has a knock-off of the Girl Scouts cookie the Samoa. It is Bentons Caramel, Cocounut, Fudge if I recall correctly, possibly the Nobel prize of cookies. And in the freezer section Chicken Cordon Bleu individually wrapped for around US$1 each are very good. I once worked with a guy whose initials are EW and he worked for a company with the initials WE. grumpygrampy might know this person too. EW would not discard a single drop of coffee. Leftover coffee from a week ago or more was fine. He told me that he just skims the surface to remove any obvious imperfections. And, that old coffee was just fine. Just heat it and drink it black.

One of the AMD quad core machines was running hot due to a failing fan so the processing was lowered to 50%.
----------------------------------------A new cooler arrived today and has lowered the temperature into the safe area so that it can process work at 100%. It is a loss of sorts because I was using it to reheat my coffee.

Don't they give you time off for vacation, rcc
- or is your boss .... yourself? Uh-oh, cold coffee should never grow that old, and re-heated coffee can be a tastebud killer. If your Gevalia survive the reheating on your hot computer and still is drinkable it's a very good coffee. Maybe it's meant to be able to take it. My mom always claimed that the Swedes boiled their coffee, but I have not verified that. I'll look at ALDI's cookie shelf at my next visit - I don't recall having seen those Benton's and ALDI's selection varies - even at the stores in my 50,000 people city - and there's a long way from Georgia to Zealand. I hope your new member will get going. |
