little mermaid, if you run into sunfolk will you send him here to look at my Oct 25, 2011 10:05:48 AM post?
----------------------------------------he said he was running Linux and only had a command line to run a temperature monitor. I think The Open Hardware Monitor will work for him. (sunfolk does not display an email address)

Thanks little mermaid You're welcome. My father was a mail man. I grew up with mail We would like to welcome our latest new member to the team. Brent Gauer is new to WCG and crunching. Welcome Brent. I'm so happy to see new members here. Welcome to crunching Bren Gauer Captain RCC, if you at some point should need a traffic cop, I would be happy to apply for the job. I have lots of experience from regulating the incoming traffic under terrible conditions using my imagination to its limits at The Christians <but because they don't give me free coffee and grossly underpay me - just one Jamican dollar a day - I'm really in the market for a better paid position> |

little mermaid,
----------------------------------------the pay is better at your present job, we have nothing to give but respect and admiration. What exactly is the job description for "a traffic cop"? I could present it to the board of directors. In addition, do you care to share how you are able to message members? It would bolster your case with the board of directors.

A traffic cop directs the traffic when new members arrive.
----------------------------------------Team the Christians has a lot of traffic so I volunteered. Eventually the workload got so heavy that I thought I deserved some kind of compensation. I modestly asked for a dollar a day and free coffee on my beat. Sometimes, I'm offered a cup of coffee by PecosRiverM - he must be soft. The US $ was tricked into a Jamaican one - but maybe that will be as good as their bob sleigh team some day. Just recently I talked them into paving Central Park - all of it - gone are the squirrels, the lakes and playgrounds in order to procure sufficient parking space for the new team members. Oh, the PMing is done at Base Camp Forum, but you have to register - but you are welcome to tell me. I keep an eye on this place, and I'm ready to let Central Park pigeons take off any time. ![]() P.S. Should have thought before posting - not a thing that pesters me a lot: You can leave messages there without registering, BTW. We have some sections where you can post - several grafitti wall are waiting to be decorated [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 26, 2011 7:51:44 PM] |

RCC,
----------------------------------------Had a look at the Open Hardware Monitor, but to be honest when I realised it would have to be installed as software that is not part of the Ubuntu `eco-system` I lost interest. Part of the reason I moved away from windows was because a lot of software had to be installed from unknown/untrusted web sources. Anyway I had another look at what is available in Ubuntu, and good news there are graphical applications available Xsensors being one. Hope that helps ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
