I am trying to use what i have to get everything done.. what i have is what i have and i will use it to the best i can. nasher,This being a voluntary effort you are doing an exceptional job! You are making a great contribution to the team and you are deeply appreciated. Myself, I am trying to find more ways to squeeze out more results. It comes from not working and having nothing else to do.

----------------------------------------I have a couple of these that are pending validation but no errors. Maybe they are related to the server downtime this weekend. I am not running CEP2 now because it takes 12 hours to run one WU on my Pentium 4 at 2.4GHz. FAAH WUs are much quicker. PS, Disney World? "No soup for you!"

It was interesting to see this posted a little while ago:
... we are within 2.5 weeks +/- a week of starting the beta test for our next research project (focusing on cancer research)... http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,35466_offset,20 (by knreed buried 3 pages deep in a FAAH post) [ shh!] i'm happily running CEP2 on the old abacus. I run 6 at a time with each and every one validating (except for the one above which failed on 8 different machines - and we all still got points for it). bring on the beta... |

hehe yea could use more betas... im 19 days from gold... (never though i would get bronze even :P ) heck i am defiantly interested in another target or more than one more...
----------------------------------------with us technically running 2 projects here right now im waiting for more or more to become active again. conspiracy theory though it that they shut the other projects down to tilt and ramp up the aids project to catch up to where they wanted to be on it. |

While waiting for new projects there is time to get my 2 Androids working correctly.
----------------------------------------They both identify as "localhost" to BOINC. Used various apps to successfully change the hostname but they still identify as "localhost". The search continues. Came across this interesting comment in my W7 hosts files: # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself. # 127.0.0.1 localhost # ::1 localhost http://serverfault.com/questions/4689/windows...led-within-dns-itself-why I must have been on coffee break when they made that change.

Wish I had known that Google has no interest in support as they consider Android open source.
----------------------------------------I believe this is related to my problem as the device is Rooted with Superuser, and the hostname changed. BOINC still sees it as "localhost". 3 years and Google has yet to fix their problem. They don't see it as a violation of the RFCs, they see this as an enhancement. In the meantime corporate users are pleading for a fix. Not recognizing hostnames on local domain http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=8030 Shame on you Google!
