nasher, I can relate to that.
----------------------------------------My wife has been sick for 8 days and now I am getting it too. Her sister already has it. They are both taking antibiotics for it. A lot of coughing and congestion causing loss of sleep. I stopped taking Lipitor but my kidneys still hurt. Won't know what to do until 5/28, that is the next MD appointment. The wife's computer is up and running. I spent a couple of days recovering email, photos, etc... and getting them to work on the new PC. BOINC/WCG is loaded and it is running GFAM and is validating WUs. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors ![]() |

This may not work for everybody, but it works great for me. I had moderately high cholesterol levels ( overall 227, triglyceride 96, HDL 48, LDL 160). After 2 weeks on Lipitor my legs started hurting, mostly notable at night when I lay down in bed, so I quit taking it.
After searching the internet etc. I started taking Red Yeast Rice supplement, 1200 mg, plus two table spoons a day of Apple Cider vinegar. Yeah it's a little hard to take the vinegar, but it works. After two months ( overall 128, triglyceride 75, HDL 39, LDL 74) after another 6 months, (overall 148, triglyceride 66, HDL 48, LDL 87) and that is with no change in diet. I could improve it more with a diet chance, but I've always struggled to put on weight my whole life and I like to eat. As far a colds go, man I always got them, a least 3 a year, bad.. I'm talking about losing my voice, bad congestion and coughing, etc. In January of 2000 I started taking vitamin C, at least 3000 to 4000 mg a day. Since then, I've had 2 small colds, that were gone within 2 to 3 days, and that's not per year, it has been 13 years. I also take 100mg per day of Nattokinase. Look it up on the internet, it's an all natural supplement that helps blood flow, and will eat any blood clots. About four years ago I started getting headaches along the side of the head above the ears. It got to the point where I'd get these at least once a day or more. Not one headache since starting the Natto, they stopped within 2 days of taking the supplement. Like I said this may not work for everybody, but there are supplements out there that may work for you or help. Most doctors will not recommend supplements, mainly because there are no official AMA medical studies or trials done with them. There is no $ in them for the big pharm boys, since they can not patient a natural occurring drug or supplement, hence there is no official information for a doctor to go on. In this day and age of law suits, most MDs will never go out on a limb to recommend them for fear of malpractice suits. |

burno, thanks, I will look it up.
----------------------------------------In the meantime on my everyday PC I have a Windows 7 update that gives the BSOD. In 13 updates it is one of 4-5, but have not identified the bad one yet. I'm really glad that start up recovery and Windows recovery work. Without restore points I would have to reload backup images from a USB drive. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors ![]() |

Based on the symptoms the wife and I have acute bronchitis.
----------------------------------------Can't wait for this to get over. Ordered a 3TB HDD and a HD 7870 GHz/Black edition for the wife's PC. Going to set her up with a better backup plan and get her ready for any GPU projects that may come along. I must say that case fans are not toys. Used small tie wraps to hold a connector from getting into a fan. The connector was okay but I forgot to cut the tie wrap and it got into the fan. I stuck my finger in to move the tie wrap and the fan liked to take a piece of me with it. It bleed a lot but other than that I'll live. Still working on the BSOD problem. I think it is a USB driver at fault but can't identify it. May also have a second problem because Outlook crashed, which may be caused by the update failing during an Office 2007 update. Ran a repair on Outlook, hope that helps. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors ![]() |

I like the fans, bought 4 more, will use them with a 12v power supply for slicing carrots.

Typically if something hurts I won't do it again.
----------------------------------------Please take note that I used the word typically. Also, I enjoy new projects and Beta testing. Would like to see more cancer research and GPU work. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors ![]() |
