Beta has been started again. This has a fix for the priority issue with windows computers.
Please let us know if you encounter any issues, or if you don't that is always nice to hear as well :) Thanks, -Uplinger |

Looks good so far.
----------------------------------------Both AMD 2.4 and Intel 1.6 are reactive, Boinc manager and Task manager updating normally. Suspends within a second or 2. Paul.

Picked up 2 on my VISTA machine. Last time around I couldn't run 2 together but this time they're running together OK. No temperature spike like before and Task Manager shows them honoring my Use At Most 50% of CPU setting.
They've both done their 1st checkpoint and are running fine together. |

No issues with 4 running together on a Win XP machine, 100% load. The 10-20 seconds freezing have now disappeared.
----------------------------------------I do not know whether to be happy for this or to be sad, as it will send back my dream of having silver soon! Missing <14 days! Compliments and recognitions to the techs who worked over the weekend. I think may of us appreciate your efforts! Cheers. Edit: minor add and spelling. One item that has many a cruncher's attention is the frequency of checkpointing. My devices are set standard to a 5 minute Write to Disk at minimum. From the log extract below it can be derived, that rule is properly adhered AND by how soon after the 5 minutes a checkpoint is written it can be concluded that the true frequency is actually higher. Goodoes!

I can spoil the surprise. A checkpoint is attempted after every job is finished. So any time you see Finished job #... in stderr it attempts to checkpoint. For smaller molecules this will be more frequent and for larger molecules it will be less frequent.
Thanks, armstrdj |
