Greetings All,
We have started another beta test with 4 targets with about 1000 work units per batch. This means about 8,000 results being sent out. The goal of this beta test is to make sure the Windows XP machines react properly to suspend and stop commands. Also, on linux we have addressed the issue with invalids between Intel and AMD machines. This also test our new method for sizing workunits. This allows for different number of jobs within a work unit based on previous runtime averages users achieved while running certain ligands. For example here is a small sample of workunits that have different number of jobs. BETA_gbp_0000001_0998 40 BETA_gbp_0000001_0999 36 BETA_gbp_0000001_1000 76 BETA_gbp_0000001_1001 44 BETA_gbp_0000001_1002 52 BETA_gbp_0000001_1003 44 From eyeballing the numbers it varies from 12 to 80. Average runtimes are targeted to be 6 hours. Enjoy, -Uplinger Note: About 100 results went out that were using the old binary 6.13. The version of code with the changes noted above is 6.14. |

uplinger,
----------------------------------------1. Got 4 of those 6.13. Is there a point to run them, or hope they match with an Intel CPU. 2. We, the members, happened to discuss ''sizing to power'' this week. In awe a variation on this theme is coming to us so soon. Sek,
Please feel free to abort the 6.13 work units. They don't have much value. There are still 6000 results ready to be snagged. -Uplinger |

Sek,
Sorry to cause two posts to respond to you, but wanted to let you know sooner than later to abort those work units. As for point 2. This is sizing the workunits so that the overall runtime will be around 6 hours on the average machine. We have thought about additional workunit sizing issues, but we are only in the early thoughts of how to do that within our build scripts. Again none of this is sizing a work unit based on computers power. The goal is to get the runtime to average 6 hours on the average machine. Thanks, -Uplinger |

I just started crunching one in a XP laptop. This time it looks like it's respecting the CPU throttle (in my case, 33% or 1 second on, 2 seconds off). Also snooze works as expected (immediately).

Uplinger,
----------------------------------------will the application be multi-threaded since Vina supports it?? AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

bono, Great! :) Thanks for the info.
Falconet, at this time, it will not be multi-threaded. That does not mean it will never be. But for the near future it will not be. Thanks, -Uplinger |

I have 2 running on XP (Pentium D) machine. They are running high priority (slow machine) but all the commands are working.
----------------------------------------The other 48 are running nicely also. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Dataman at Aug 23, 2011 11:45:01 PM] |
