I have noted some rather odd points/results/time balances with CMD Betas, as follows:
----------------------------------------BETA_ BETA_ ampc_ 0000000_ 0006_ 0-- 612 Valid 27/07/11 15:31:40 27/07/11 22:45:23 3.34 79.3 / 82.6 BETA_ BETA_ ampc_ 0000000_ 0006_ 1-- 612 Valid 27/07/11 15:31:40 28/07/11 12:45:30 9.89 85.8 / 82.6 Note 3.34 hrs versus 9.89hrs and an averaged points tally, above; contrast that with what's below: BETA_ CMD2_ 1980-1E2D_ A.clustersOccur-2H8N_ A.clustersOccur_ 0_ 46868_ 61263_ 0-- 640 Valid 28/07/11 04:55:08 28/07/11 11:55:15 4.21 101.0 / 108.6 BETA_ CMD2_ 1980-1E2D_ A.clustersOccur-2H8N_ A.clustersOccur_ 0_ 46868_ 61263_ 1-- 640 Valid 28/07/11 04:55:07 28/07/11 13:22:47 6.00 49.7 / 46.5 4.21 hrs 101 claimed, 108.6 granted; 6.00 hrs 49.7 claimed, 46.5 granted - no average...... The others have been averaged.....is there a reason for this??? So far all Betas have gone valid, only 2 left in PV now. |

JSYKES,
----------------------------------------for CMD2, there is a time limit for crunching. So after 6 hrs of CPU time, it stops crunching doesn't matter if it is finish or not. The average is still done on the 2 crunchers, but based on how much is has done. I am guess, but for ampc, there was no time limit, so when both crunchers returned their WU, they both completed it so WCG just takes the average of the 2 |

Those Betas I reported yesterday are still sucking wind. Should I abort them or let them run? hi proque, Something not kosher there... the Elapsed / CPU time ratio is what's doing that what fills the balloon. Don't know what platform, but suggest to stop client / service and restart and see what it does... many core device, maybe switch LAIM off, then suspend project for for 30 seconds to let the sciences unload, then resume project. Suppose the checkpoint column in that view shows none or one being ages ago. On Linux that checkpoint last time froze on mine, but not under W7. The jobs did though continue clocking CPU time. --//-- Assuming is often a killer: Without stopping the client, simply switching off LAIM and suspending a suspect job will/would unload it from memory, if it has not gone bad or zombie . The target job unloaded on my 6.12.33 test client and on manually forcing it to resume did as per design, took off from last checkpoint. Spock logic. After test, switched LAIM back on, only the target job having lost 6 minutes... a DDDT2 :O) --//-- |
