I just started a BETA_tk 0493_0, so is does look as if the downpour is coming to an end.

The first test I did not look in, just let it run. Now checking: RAM 120MB Commit and Peak workset. Progress odd: Elapsed runs per wallclock, the CPU time freezes, slowly reducing the observed efficiency as shown in BOINCTasks, then the CPU time leaps forward and efficiency jumps to near 99%. Also the time since last checkpoint time freezes at about 13-15 seconds, then resets at next checkpoint, races to 13-15 seconds, then freezes again et cetera et cetera. Not good for the stressed and easily nerved :P --//-- edit: Should have qualified more.... the above is what's seen on Linux. On W7-32 the inter-checkpoint progress is normal upon verifying. I'm seeing something similar. Very low utilization on a hsp90 @ around .28%. One of my gbp WUs is jumping between .01% and 70% utilization. The progress jumps from 94.861% to 277440% to 95.756% and repeats. edit: on Linux x64 [Edit 1 times, last edit by pirogue at Jul 27, 2011 6:20:46 PM] |

all gone?? Yes...and so far the final results look good. 383 valid back so far with only 33 errors ( mostly client aborts ). Also, we will be using this data to size the work units better in the future. We are planning work units with longer check points in the next few days. Need to get most of the data from this beta first :) Thanks, -Uplinger |

uplinger, you mention that there will be bigger WUs, does this mean that there will be a cut off point? or will you/WCG cut some of the WU into 2 or more smaller WUs?

Thanks for the update. My ISP has been down for the last 10 minutes and I am tethering my phone to PC to act as modem in order read the forum and post this. My betas are behaving well and some of the small ones are close to finish.
----------------------------------------I won't be trusting phone network to upload the data though, so I'm gonna let ISP fix take the strain. Fingers crossed it's only a minor downtime Crunching in memory of my Mum PEGGY, cousin ROPPA and Aunt AUDREY. |
