Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

Never could get convinced to try an AMD system, particular since the mention of the fubar function [or was it foobar? ] in the forums :O. Intel Q6600, stock speed on Linux 11.04 kernel 2.6.38.10, build 47.

PS, those jobs which did not count the time since last checkpoint did complete normal and validate. As eluded earlier in this thread, when the checkpoints did happen, the recorded CPU time would jump forward. If the CPU time in Task Manager or Top shows to increment, there's something maybe more fishy. This is a 2 threaded job, parent/ child, latter doing the crunching and a new one gets created when the checkpoint is made. The PID of the child would than change with each new child, but have not looked if this implementation does that.

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

I've had one passing through inconclusive... but, mine proofed valid when the 3rd copy came through.

For production, not heard what the plan is... zero redundancy or quorum 2. Eager to hear what the schema is for production.

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

Had two results on my ancient Athlon with Win2k, both turned inconclusive, one is now invalid, the other one probably later.
But my Athlon 7750 had two WUs as well, one is valid, the other PV.

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

Just a heads up, tomorrow comes the larger workunits of the beta. They will have similar names to those seen before.

Thanks,

Re: New Beta Starting 2011/07/22

I found a conflict when running Moo! Wrapper with an ATI
The GPU activity is dropping to 60% when Beta Test 6.12 is running.
When I suspend the task the GPU activity returns to 99%.
I had the same on 3 other boxes yesterday where the GPU app's run-time increased 4 times!
I did not see any of this on my 4th box with a Nvidia running Primegrid

EDIT
Here is a few examples:
