Don't know... there are 4 possible profiles to which a device can be associated. If there was no more work after 1 receipt, than it will have been 1. If previously in production those 4 devices with the bandwidth message did get their profile specified 2, than it is a riddle.
With multiple download servers can see replication problems, but that I'm sure knreed and team will sort out, in Beta or when the NDS's move into production. My quad is set to hold 10 on a 1 day cache, intermixed with other sciences and mostly there are 8 at least... depends if there are enough in the hopper at time of work request. For beta there's never a message to say there are none... they simply stop coming. Think if there is no Beta, the Beta feeder is switched off too... saves scheduler cycles. --//-- |

Guess this will have to go into the "one of life's great mysteries" column.

mine- the two zip files took a while, Not sure if one caused the other or of they are both slow. Didn't see the download speeds this time but on this box i have seen high 3 and even low 4 digits to the left of the decimal point. in the middle of all that were a couple up/downloads of HCC tasks that took all of a second or two...

Hear Hear: Aborts do NOT affect reliability, only results with an 'Error' outcome. What aborts do, of any kind, is they go against the daily core quota of 80, core that is! Who's got the machine to do 80 per core per day even of the fastest WCG tasks? Looks like it's 92 results/day/host: World Community Grid 07-jul 11:34 UTC (reached daily quota of 92 results) Switching profiles wasn't functioning very well. Although the wished profile was displayed on "My Grid", I got tasks from a former selected profile. |

Many dual-quads (with HT on HCC only) would hit that limit of 92 when running faultless, so doubt it, rather think something else went on to cause the scheduler to decrement [yes decrement] the quota for that device. It's not like if you have a quota of 80 per core (320 on a quad) you get to mangle them all... then the reliable devices queue would be overloaded at times.
--//-- PS, the last discussion on the daily quota topic I can find: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,25511_offset,0#228110 IIRC knreed upped the overall device quota to 32 cores, last year or the year before... that would then be less than 3 per core per day ;>) |

This beta test is testing the throughput of the new servers. As people noted, the downloads were going pretty slow which is why we stopped the beta. This was an improvement from last week though in that people were able to reliably connect and start downloading a server - just at a slower rate.
@Crystal Pellet. There was an issue last night with changing venues/profiles. That was fixed about 1 hour ago. |

Any time frame as to when the betas will resume? Hmm- NOW. ![]() Download is nice- up to 50 kb/s here. But only got 16 on one box- maybe stopped again? ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Mathilde2006 at Jul 7, 2011 1:55:44 PM] |

I'm not getting any Beta at the moment. But the one CEP2 beta I completed four days ago is still PV.

I haven't seen a Beta for many days now (since 07/02/11).
----------------------------------------And I still have a WU (CEP2) in PV Limbo.
