Poem for a rainy day....
----------------------------------------The rain to the wind said, 'You push and I'll pelt.' They so smote the garden bed That the flowers actually knelt, And lay lodged - though not dead. I know how the flowers felt. - Robert Frost |

Doesn't seem 2 minutes
----------------------------------------"For the Solstice" Shoe polish soot dusts my soul Charcoal pitted O lives pressed Crushed beneath the sack of ink jet black ness Enveloped in dark room Hemmed in and still captured There, developing in silver salts The light is returning I wish I had one for the Summer Solstice But I'm all poemed out and currently under doctors orders to chill out and smell the roses for 2 weeks - that relentless inhuman clockwork stress ladened monotony was bound to catch up with me in the end I'm broken ![]() ![]() |

Found this one today and sharing....
----------------------------------------Nothing Gold Can Stay Robert Frost, 1874 - 1963 Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. |

Nothing gold can stay.
----------------------------------------That puts me in mind of Sunset Blvd and Norma Desmond. She decided to try to make gold stay. ![]() |

Nothing gold can stay. That puts me in mind of Sunset Blvd and Norma Desmond. She decided to try to make gold stay. One of the great classics .... You're Norma Desmond. You used to be in silent pictures. You used to be big. Norma Desmond: I *am* big. It's the *pictures* that got small. All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up. |

Like a pearl held up in the farthest reaches of the sky
----------------------------------------The moon is a gem, inspiration for dreams and desire Standing alone among bright diamonds big and small Subtly gleaming, but never afraid to show its pale fire The ocean's unrequited love, never failing to be there Waters dance and sing to the truest pearl of the deep But upon another sunrise, the moon shall hide again With only a song remaining, to lull the moon to sleep I've not gone. I will be back just like the moon. Thank you, Dave for the lovely photo ![]() |

Too often I would hear men boast of the miles covered that day, rarely of what they had seen.
