Re: UK

Looking at yesterday's crunching I'd surmise that Wicksman has given back the "borrowed" Acer farm sad - it was great while it lasted. biggrin

Re: UK

Just checked 'em (cos I happen to be working today).

There's either been a windows update, or power cut in my test area... All running again now (for a couple of days at least).

Re: UK

I hit 1,000,000 points in my first project, HCC biggrin

jonnieb-uk those stats for working our way up to the top 5,000 look cool. The fact it will take me 16years on run time is a bit disconcerting, but on up the I might get close with results by the end of the year.

And is it unusual for 'pending validation' to get to 34pages? It seems like an awful lot of results I'm waiting for others to return.

It's not as far as you'd think..

if you get an I7 proc, thats 8 cores... thats 8 hours for every hour.

At the moment I have one 8core CPU, 6 quad core CPUs (some borrowed) and a couple of GPUs (which dont help with runtime just results).

Added together its roughly 36 days for one days worth of work! so in ten days thats a year!

I used to think that one installation = one cpu = 1 days worth of RT but its really not as far off as it sounds

Why thank you jonnieb-uk, took me a while to find where to get one. But I did, and I added a link to the thread so people don't have to look as hard as I did. I'm just waiting for my sig to update with some actual numbers.

At the moment I have one 8core CPU, 6 quad core CPUs (some borrowed) and a couple of GPUs (which dont help with runtime just results).

That's great for you, Wicksman. I have basically only 1 i5 (plus a little on a second that's borrowed). So the almost 16 years of run time I need to catch up will take...4 years! Assuming the other person does nothing. I'm never going to get close to the top 5000 on run time unless I invest in a second or third person rig, which I'm not.

But donations are welcome wink

Re: UK

Good morning all,

I hope everyone is well. Back from the Middle East now, and have just added a Quadro 4000m GPU to the fleet, which should give me a little boost. My performance in Feb is down from Jan as a result of many of my machines running when idle only.

Re: UK

Morning everyone and welcome back to Crooks smile

I passed Mike-UK to be 2nd in the Team for Run-Time last night biggrin

"and a couple of GPU's (which don't help with run-time just results)". GPU does help with Run-Time, I've achieved well over one year on HCC using nothing but GPU, I find it adds slowly, mostly based on the fact I have soo many in Pending which only ever seems to increase (any decreases are small and short-lived sad ).

Granted, Wether you get 1 days run-time per single GPU in a single 24 hour period is arguable at best, almost impossible to work out at worst, but it does add to the time.

I also remember reading a thread on this subject some time ago (would be impossible to find now?), but I seem to remember that it was Sekerob who said that to calculate the time given, you need to look at the "Elapse Time" in the results page and not (as is usual), the "CPU Time".
