Yeah cheers, the 3770k is a monster tbh. Going to have to sort out my cooling though, one of the fans started ticking, not cool, had to turn it off the other day as it was so annoying.

I might just get another 3770k for my own PC and overclock it. Tbh in the current HTPC its running at 23degrees C so even that could probably get an overclock, on the stock cooler aswell.

Marnin'
Windy wet cycle ride in but not too bad. Nothing a hot cuppa didn't solve.

And still looking good for 800 years RT before the end of the year - that's team that is, wish it was my own stats!

Re: UK

I am hoping that my new PC will be here before Xmas and so will help get us to 800 years a little sooner, though I am doubtful at this point?

The Company said that they promise Pre-Xmas Delivery if ordered before the 17th December, my order went in mid day on the 14th... Only today have I received an email to say that the build has commenced, well the build time shouldn't take that long granted (experienced builders should have it done in a few hours or so), but based on my previous order from them, testing takes a full 24 hours after the build has finished, and then passing it to the Courier who then has to ship it half way down the country to me!

Well the Courier doesn't offer weekend delivery (unless they send it via Parcel Force, which last time they didn't, it was Business Post), and I doubt they'll deliver on Xmas Eve so it's looking like the 27th at the earliest.

It will handle GPU out of the box, so atleast it'll give a few days before the end of the year (I will overlap the Dual Core & the new PC slightly due to the length of time it takes for HPFP2 to start validating) smile

I'm less than 11 days left to 6 years on HCC (not including any pending) biggrin

We've got a small boost to come from crooks_uk new devices as well. wink There may also be an added boost from the occasional/weekend crunchers over the Christmas period if they leave their PCs on for longer. And if we gain some new members.....

Every little helps!
wink

biggrin Re: UK

I will be adding a new i3 3110M 2.4 GHz laptop to the fleet in about a weeks time. Not much horsepower but will certainly be faster than the Pentium 4 desktop it replaces.

Just purchased a new file server. A little overkill (but future proof) but a welcome addition to the fleet. CPU is a i5-3570K!

Hopefully my new laptop will be with me tomorrow, with my new file server coming on Thursday! Should be up and running by Sunday night!

Good evening all. The new laptop is up and running. Just waiting for the i5 to be delivered!
