Re: Where are you from?

I live in Whitby, Ontario Canada...hello to all fellow crunchers. cool
Hello John C MacAlister,
Pleased to meet you.
So you're in another suburb of Toronto on the other side of the city from Mississauga, which has turned out to play a major role in this thread.
Do you have ties to NCR as well?
I'm glad you tell us your city and province, John C MacAlister
(to me that is a mighty nice sounding name)
because otherwise we wouldn't be able to tell.
If I could, I would have played a 5 second-typist and filled in your index card. Now, I can only wish you will do it for me and for other curious minds.
Well, if you act quickly, you'll land yourself the third spot instead of your fellow Canadian behind you ...
What do you say?
Edit:
Sorry, your fellow Canadian behind you beat you to it.
Spot #4 is still open, though. Want it?

Re: Where are you from?

darth_vader you have arrived here from "A galaxy far, far away"
No earthly address can be found in your index card.
As I am myself, you are a character of fantasy.
I suppose I am to think Star Wars. Not long ago, Danish Television ran all the movies.
I dutifully sat down in order to fill the gap, I felt there was, as I never saw even one Star Wars movie.
Well, I think it is an aquired taste as is Black Bread and Pickled Herring.
We had a rerun of Twin Peaks as well. That I never saw in its day, either, but would correct it,
and happened to like it so much that I began to think of Coop and the entire staff as my extended family.
So, what are we gonna do, darth? I cannot imagine you wishing to relinquish on you
living in "a galaxy far, far away", and mixing in Cleveland is kind of a breach of style.
I'm content placing you in my mind in that far, far away galaxy.
So you caught me browsing your thread. laughing Very well. As you now know, the "A galaxy far, far away" address is from the movies. If you've ever looked at the MOT threads, you might know that I'm currently in the southwest corner of Silicon Valley, near the Los Gatos / San Jose border. I won't get any more specific than that. And since you mention that Star Wars is an acquired taste, I'll point out that the Darth Vader nickname was given to me many years ago for other reasons. I'm not particularly a Star Wars fan, especially not the newer 3 movies. The Empire Strikes Back was the best, in my opinion.

Yup. That's what I did.
That's what I oftentimes have to do, if I want to talk to you visitors, because you have a habit of sitting on my fence in silence, silence, silence
- and frankly: It unnerves me a lot; I'm terrible at silence - cannot outsilence anybody
smile
... the southwest corner of Silicon Valley, near the Los Gatos / San Jose border. I won't get any more specific than that.
A wandering star.
No need to get more specific.
Sometimes rules have to be bent. That we do a lot in Base Camp. It's the only way to run a Motley Crew.
I think you should have the "Where are you from?" #4 spot for the info you gave here.
Maybe, California could be put up in your index card without inflating the spell, though.

I see you sitting on my fence next to wonderful oliviathefirst.
You don't give anything away on your index card, so you may be
American, Australian, Canadian or perhaps German
or something I never thougth of. We are many nationalities here.

Having had you sitting there on the fence for a long time, I think I know
you a little, and I would like to know where you come from
so I can place you on Planet Earth be it close or far away.
Would you mind me asking you that?
I hope you decide to answer.

Planet Earth

he he I love to talk to you or just to listen to you talk!
Yes, I am onboard. I have to go to bed earlier than usual though....
You mentioned "Planet Earth."
Once I had a plant company, which I called, "The Planted Earth."
One morning I decided that Interior Decorating companies could use my products and services...
so I called on the first company, owned by a couple of young men.
I was a little unsure of myself, since my company was brand new and so was I.
But I boldly announced, "Hello! I'm from The Planted Earth."
...They said, "FAR OUT"
We all dissolved into laughter.

Goodnight my dear little friend. olivia\elaine

Yes, nicknames are given to you; you may like them or not, but oftentimes they stick.
I shall keep in mind that if I would give it another try filling in the gap of having no
Star Wars movie experience, I should choose The Empire Strikes Back.

#4 "Where are you from?" spot is yours by special rule bending.

Edit:
Again, I noticed you sitting on my fence, and by the time this was ready, you were gone.
