If you constantly want updated end date for this project, just do some basic math. Basic info: There are 285 batches per target. Each batch consist of 10,000 tasks. Each task was split into 2 WUs. According to my results page, they are currently sending out batch 246. According to Sekerob's chart, we are crunching about 95,000 HFCC WU per day (https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,24775) So doing the math you get : (285-246)*10,000*2/95,000 = 8.2 days left This is does not factor in repairs and double checks, so I will go ahead and say 9 days til the last unique WU get sent out. Then only repair WUs will be available Thanks a lot for this!!! But for future projects can you tell where did you get the "basic info" data? |

And, with HCMD2 project back to normal distribution again since yesterday, it probably will change the distribution share among the projects, so is possible that it could extend a little bit more the end of HFCC project... But, there again, with currently no DDDT2 work to divert the badge hunters away, that could also have an effect on the end date. It all goes to show that attempting to create an estimated end date (even just for 30 days - nevermind 60), is extremely difficult... I really hope that WCG could help us a little bit more and change it, and start send advises with 60 days... ate least an estimative around the probable 60 days (for more errors that it estimative could contain, it will be helpful). Anyway it was asked to WCG, if possible, to be implemented. See the thread to follow it: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,31154

and remember some of us heavy hitters are droping out once we get our badges (i figure 2 more days for me) so it may go longer or shorter Heavy Hitters? ![]() ok I am NOT one of the top ones out there I am doing what i can but if you consider there are 551,932 members total (registered) and i am (in lowest stat) 4,574 in ranking or in the top 1% of crunchers on WCG. if you go by active members (by boincstats) there are 98,138 active users on boinc with WCG putting me in the top 95% of active crunchers sure by years crunching i have only done about 0.0029% of the time and you have managed 0.0137% or about 5 times what i have produced sure Astrolab, I may not be a person with tons of computers or a corporation that i can use the computers for but there are over 93 thousand people who are active and crunched less than I have here. I consider anyone who is in the top 10% of a project ranking as the heavy hitters and yes i only produce 10% of your daily avarage astrolab ----- but back to topic yes the project is winding down as people get there badge goal they are shifting off this project to others so the end time will be in flux. and as gb009761 said with the flux on other projects like DDDT2 start and stop. so because of all these reasons it becomes harder to predict how many days there are left so 30 days ... then 15 days... then out of new work... then out of repair jobs is about all they can manage to tell you with any kind of accuracy. ![]() |

Thanks a lot for this!!! But for future projects can you tell where did you get the "basic info" data? Olafus, Sorry, I don't know where to obtain the "basic info" for future project. Sekerob, was kind enough to share this information with us a few months ago, that is the only reason I know. ![]() |

Olafus, the 'basic' information is generally only gleaned by reading the comments the scientists/WCG techs make and recording the information for your own reference. Sure, I'm sure that all the information is 'out there' somewhere (be it on the main WCG website, the various project websites, and/or mentioned in the forum's somewhere), although I don't think that there's just 'one place" which holds all this information for all the projects.
