approaching Sapphire... my computers normaly do 3-5 days of crunching per day (depending on there workload and other issues) i need less than 60 total days left so with 20+ days left i should have no problem makeing sapphire as long as too many others dont ramp up on this project.
----------------------------------------Yes it will be nice to get another project knocked out and hopefully more new projects comming soon... i hope |

I hope you manage your Sapphire badge nasher - as I know, not long ago, you were in two minds as to whether to take a chance and go for it...

This project will finish up a lot faster then orignially projected due to HCC. With HCC basically shutting down for a week, all the other projects will get HCC's share of crunching power. Not only that but once HCC gets started again, it won't get its full share of crunching power at first due to the big speedup. It will eventually even out, but until then, more HFCC will crunched. This is of course, unless the techs modify the feeders to give us more time to crunch HFCC, but I doubt it.
----------------------------------------Personally, I have already swifted more resources to HFCC to make sure I reach my goal of 25 yrs. Remember once all of the WUs are gone, no one knows if there will be anymore |

@ anhhai - Honestly I dont think too much more crunching power will end up on HFCC since there are alot of people who are currently only crunching HFCC trying to get there last badges therfor the % of people wanting only HFCC is higher so people who are on ALL projects will probabaly just get less HFCC and more on the projects that do not have as many dedicated crunchers.
----------------------------------------I am trying to make 2 years (it should take me less than 20 calender days from now)... when we get even closer (say less than 7 days needed i will probably just bump up my cache to 7 days and stock up on them that way |

Where was this announced? On 4/2/11 over 58 years work was returned for HCC. I need another 14 day of HFCto get my 1 year badge. There was a short announcement in "Member News", linking to a more detailed post in the HCC-forum. WCG had before this slow-down of HFC 5 "normal"-running sub-projects, so if one of them doesn't have any work, the resources for this project should get more or less equally distributed among the 4 remaining projects, meaning 25% increase in production for each of them. For HFCC this means the 30-days left possibly can be reduced to only 24 days, so for you needing 14 days there should be no problems to manage this before the end. Even with the worse-case scenario that all crunching HCC switches to only crunching HFCC during the slow-down of HCC, and the 30-days is reduced to 15 days, there should be no problem getting enough cached before running-out to get your 14 days total. Both the 24-days and the 15-days assumes HCC will be down for respective 24-days and 15-days, neither is very likely. Also, while WCG has 5 "normal"-running sub-projects, you've also got CEP2 and the more randomly-accessible DDDT2-projects that would probably also get a small increase in production during HCC's lower work-availability.
