Re: Computing for Clean Water 64 bit

very strange!!! I got 10 betas but 9 of them went to my XP machines (32 bit) and only 1 went to my vista machine. Half of them are completed and validated.

Re: Computing for Clean Water 64 bit

got 4 and all completed and validated ran each for 4.21. Although I had my desktop set at a lower rate than normal was running at 2.8 instead of the regular 3.2

Re: Computing for Clean Water 64 bit

anhhai, What is the name of the machine that is 32bit XP. If it is 32 bit it should not have received beta work units.

Re: Computing for Clean Water 64 bit

Think btw, that someone (Ingleside?) commented that a 64 bit client is not a requirement, just the OS needing to be 64 bit, but could be mistaken.

edit: After all, BOINC itself is just a traffic warden doing nothing to "compute" the sciences.

Re: Computing for Clean Water 64 bit

Another 5000 work units are now being distributed. The first 1000 work units went through with a low error rate.

Enjoy,

Re: Computing for Clean Water 64 bit - version 6.16

Yeah, the DDDT2-Beta mix did it... 4 on the Linux quad, in HP... version 6.16

edit: The last few of the 32 bit v 6.15 took a consistent 4:41 to compute.

BETA_ c4cw_ target03_ 061007093_ 0-- 615 Valid 2/24/11 03:18:50 2/24/11 17:59:20 3.91 76.2 / 88.6

Re: Computing for Clean Water 64 bit - version 6.16

So far the intermediate progress on Linux suggests about 6-7% faster... 4:20 hours or there about. This is pretty much the advantage Windows presently has over Linux with the 32 bit version ;P
