Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 48smilesmile

Any idea the average power usage to generate 100 points with a machine that do so in one hour?

Math is not my strong suit but I'll give you what my 2600k produces. With the CPU @ 4.5 GHz, memory @ 2133 MHz, and a GT 8400 video card it pulls 192 watts and produces about 40k PPD. running a mix of HCC and C4CW. Temps are around 62c with an ambient of 72f on air with a Coolmaster Hyper 212 in a push pull configuration without a case. It works out to about 200 PPH. This is a Win7 64 bit cruncher. Hope this helps.

RT,
Don't know your wife but my begrudgingly accepts my peculiar hobby! No we she sees all these Newegg boxes coming in is she excited, but perhaps she is afraid to ask! She does write the checks for AE.
JJSMD

Judson, I understand; my wife writes 99.9% of the checks around here (business and personal) so she sees it all. She knows if it is from NewEgg, it is not for her. She makes it clear occasionally that she does not understand why I put so much money and time into it while other things that she deems more important do not get the attention she deems appropriate. smile

Interesting Numbers Nanoprobe. I need to insturment my I7/870 and see what it does.

The 2600k, at the current settings, does about 15% more work with about 40% less power than my i7-920 did. I'm sure the 2600k will clock higher but I'm not playing with it any more until the replacement motherboards are available. From what I have read around the web something in the 4.6-4.7 GHz. range is the sweet spot for most of the 2600k chips. After that the CPU voltage needed is not worth the extra speed gained.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 48smilesmile

Different subject-- When our country was founded, the Founding Fathers never envisioned or prescribed more than a limited federal government. The states were to have the primary authority except for a few, enumerated federal areas within our beloved Constitution. I also read recently that there is an attempt to nationalize wireless internet. When will this end? James Madison wrote in Federalist Paper # 45 that the powers delegated to the federal government are few and defined. Wake up America, and ask your state and your fellow citizens to retain the Founding Fathers’ and constitutional concept of limited federal government. Godspeed.
