One problem I found that seems to have fixed the problem for me was, my router (not modem) that comes before my DSL Modem had time zone/date/time set to 1 jan 1990, 12 am, GMT. had to connet to router and drill down into settings until I found it, set to correct and cleared all backlog (3 jobs) in about 10 min, after fussing with it for about an hr.

At last I solved the problem with uploads!!
I had to do a little trick with Windows 7 default tcp/ip behaviour... 1) open command prompt with administrator rights 2) write: "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled" (without quotes) Then I was able to upload and surf the net (gMail, Blogger and many others web sites) faster. Hope it helps someone esle |

Hi,
----------------------------------------Did a Google on that: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable and found this for Vista: http://www.petri.co.il/improve_windows_vista_network_performance.htm http://www.speedguide.net/faq_in_q.php?qid=247 If it worked for you without booting, then great, but the first article does say to do so before it is taking effect.

Yes, the trick works on Vista but it works fine also for Windows 7... and with 7 works without reboot.

I'm having the same problem. I've rebooted the computer; restarted BOINC, updated the project, and retried sending. This is the second time in a couple of weeks this has happened and yet, never before on this project or SETI. I was finally advised via a message to delete it. Now I'm having another issue with another wu that was due 3/23.

Dedonut,
Which work unit is failing and which WCG research project is it from? Can you post the relevant section of the messages log from when the upload is attempted? Just as a guess without more information, you might also try the solution suggested in this thread (from advanced view, Activity -> Network Activity Suspended -> wait a minute -> Activity -> Network Activity Always Available https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=31074 Seippel |
