That's too informative to be even able to opine on. Message logs we need. Not downloading either... is the client actually asking for work? Have you looked in the transfer tab for stuck downloads? No/Yes and if so abort.

What is in the Transfers tab? Are any communication processes stuck that need aborting? Also, are you aware that your BOINC is running on local preferences? Until you Clear that local file, it will override any website preferences. What does your network device driver say? Is it happy and enabled? It should be or you would not have any internet access. But it might be reporting an unusual error. Lawrence [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 1, 2010 9:08:37 PM] |

I resolved my issue locally (there was software similar to Zone Alarm that was blocking the outward connection). If there IS an issue, it's not the same issue.

There is a major ISP problem in parts of the UK at the moment (and it has been so since Monday afternoon) - e-mail and local based web seems to work OK but anything with servers based in the US seems to be unavailable - I know that Eurotel/Daisy run systems are affected but BT is not - I have hundreds of completed WU's on machines at the office that are now sitting idle waiting for the Web techs to get it all working again......

Maybe, at this specific moment, it was due the follow advise from WCG: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,30235

I can say no, because I have this problem since 01 november... btw seems that the problem is only in my Win 7 x64 pc at home May you revise yousr configurations settings inside yours devices profiles (default, work, school home) ? Maybe you are under restrictions to upload or download, due the follow: 1) Some new setups are introduced by WCG recently, like crunch with ZERO or some percentage of the processors, and for facvourite preferences to crunch CEP2 project. 2) The selection of the projects, in your MY PROJECTS page or inside each of yours device profiles, are just with intermitens projects. 3) The settings inside your device profiles are selected to crunch just when the machines are in iddle (and maybe all machines don't be in iddle for large time enough to allow BOINC client actions). 4) The settings in yours devices profiles are so restrictives that provoques it (numbers of processors, percentage usage of processors, percentage usage of RAM memory, percentage usage of disk space, 'Leave applications in memory while suspended' unselected, and so on...). 5) The minimum requeriments of the machines which you are using, are under the bar for the projects. And, after all, if nothing change it, I suggest reinstall the BOINC client that you are using, slecting the more new release supported by WCG. Anyway, appear be a strange behavior. Good luck. ![]()

you can say VERY strange behavoir!
I mean: all configuration seem to work properly (all previous downloaded work ...works fine) and I have 4 "Help Conquer Cancer 6" and 4 "Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2" at 100% and waiting for upload to server, but Boinc say "Internet access OK, project server may be temporarily down" ...I will try waiting more, then I'll try a new installation |

Marcolinux,
----------------------------------------Are there jobs in the Tasks tab that show as downloading? If so, abort these. If not, copy / paste a good piece of the message log so we can read what the client is doing.
