I'm seeing that weird low utilization issue again.
----------------------------------------BETA_ E200515_ 107_ A.26.C19H12N6S.95.3.set1d06_ 0-- is showing 22-23% CPU utilization. The other 11 are at 95%+. BoincTasks shows: Elapsed time=4:35:50 CPU=1:02:53 Windows 7 x64 i7-980x Boinc 6.10.58 |

The Windows results so far: After 10 hours 1 minute Elapsed have 9:45 as CPU time and reportedly at 81% i.e. this task is heading for the 12:00 hours CPU time cut-off.
----------------------------------------16 minutes gap Elapsed:CPU is excellent for this duo compared to the previous test.

I'm seeing that weird low utilization issue again. BETA_ E200515_ 107_ A.26.C19H12N6S.95.3.set1d06_ 0-- is showing 22-23% CPU utilization. The other 11 are at 95%+. Something as was observed during the very first CEP2 jobs is happening. CPU use is normal/max, but the time is not being passed right about when the next job segment starts: [19:53:42] Starting job 2,CPU time has been restored to 438.230000. ... [21:53:09] End of Job [21:53:11] Finished Job #2 [21:53:11] Starting job 3,CPU time has been restored to 899.140000. 3 hours and only 463 seconds logged, though the CPU shows full load. Nothing detected as user impacting i.e. no endless disk IO making the system appear sluggish.

I noticed that too on windows: no "Qink name"

Something as was observed during the very first CEP2 jobs is happening. CPU use is normal/max, but the time is not being passed right about when the next job segment starts The same thing happened just recently with one of my "production" jobs on linux: E200433_ 634_ A.24.C20H12O3S.10.3.set1d06_ 1-- 619 Valid 09.10.10 17:32:56 11.10.10 17:37:09 6.09 73.9 / 54.4 <--- mine E200433_ 634_ A.24.C20H12O3S.10.3.set1d06_ 0-- 619 Valid 09.10.10 17:21:41 10.10.10 19:35:14 2.38 35.0 / 54.4 Usually I get a lot more credits than the machine asks for, this time they were cut down extremely. Looking at the wingman's log, I discovered the very same thing as you described: [06:58:19] Starting job 0,CPU time has been restored to 0.000000. [07:04:08] Starting job 2,CPU time has been restored to 318.091879. [08:53:05] Finished Job #2 [08:53:05] Starting job 3,CPU time has been restored to 571.159694. [10:12:19] Starting job 13,CPU time has been restored to 2993.083050. [11:29:06] Finished Job #13 [11:29:06] Starting job 14,CPU time has been restored to 3249.551078. [14:48:32] Finished Job #15 No signs of interruption during the run. Run time obviously was similar to mine, but the wingman only got 2.38 hours accounted. ----------------------------------------As you've seen this [small] beta is for all WCG platforms (maybe not Mac PPC?). No point launching this beta big. Done some stats myself and on Linux it seemed that about 1/8th of my wingman have this black-hole time gap. That's way too many to leave unaddressed, IMHO... Maybe credit/time should be based on elapsed instead for that science as the tasks do seem to have clean logs matching the ones that come of 'normal' clients. Think that new BOINC does report elapsed time, starting from when it's needed for GPU task reporting. edit: hmmm, Merriam-Webster is approving of "unaddressed", just Firefox spellchecker is not and wanted to make "undressed" out of it :O
