I dont think there is any point letting this (No reply) task run. What do you think?

Hi Asia,
----------------------------------------Yes, the "No Reply" task is redundant. You could let it run to the end if already started and credit will be given. Don't know what version of client you have, but with the newer ones the server tells the client to cancel "unstarted" overdue tasks, but only if the client connects to the servers. Hit the update button in the Projects tab, select WCG there first, and all overdue unstarted should go. If they don't you can abort them in the Tasks tab of BOINC Manager. Select them in group or 1 by 1. --SekeRob

If it hasn't started, then you are right - and you may even get a server aborted condition. If you were almost done - there is a short grace period which awards credit - I've seen this happen but not sure how much grace period there is.

oh,... well the grace period is a bit longer than the "almost done" time. In practice it's as long as the No Reply task remains showing on the RS pages, after which reporting such removed task gives nasty message in the log ("unknown task"). But there's a ceiling on that grace since WCG do not want people to start crunching off-line and then consciously going overdue with piles of cached work. Some found out, so on the 6.10.58 client, even if off-line, they will self abort all unstarted overdue tasks. Severely overdue is just flat redundant task crunching.
