Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Announcement :P

There were 13 DDDT2 tasks that validated this morning. Everyone was very silent, so either they're keeping it to themselves or these were just clearances of incomplete quorums which could include erred results of no fault of the cruncher pushed through for credit. The average time computes as 5.1 hours. At least, something is moving. The cactus is starting to shrivvel too.

Have a go at my suggestion of yesterday evening. It will mean that you check a lot more regularly without having to do anything except every 9 days. It will increase your chances.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Some very oooold valid WUs just disappeared from the results list a couple of minutes ago. Maybe a sign that WCG staff are cleaning up the log, in order to provide new WUs? biggrin

Regards,
Martin

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

We have some dg05 typeB work units which passed initial testing and are ready to be released. I've submitted one batch (18 work units) which should be sent out within the next hours. If no problems are found with that batch the remaining 1740 work units should be released in the next couple of days.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I have set this machine so the only work units I should get now are DDDT2 units.
I checked my message log, and I get messages like this:

28-Nov-2011 22:05:31 [World Community Grid] Requesting new tasks
28-Nov-2011 22:05:35 [World Community Grid] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
28-Nov-2011 22:05:35 [World Community Grid] Message from server: No work sent
28-Nov-2011 22:05:35 [World Community Grid] Message from server: No work is available for Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2
28-Nov-2011 22:05:35 [World Community Grid] Message from server: No work is available for Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2 (Type A)
28-Nov-2011 22:05:35 [World Community Grid] Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your settings on the website.

Have I set this to get only Type A work units? I do not mean to be as fussy as that. I would settle for Type B or Type C as well. Is this something I have configured wrongly, or is just an unhelpful error message?

Someone correct me if I screw this up, but I believe Type A operates on a separate feeder from B and C. Both feeders are turned on when you select the project however.
As I recall, the purpose was to 'select' for more stable and reliable machines for type A units (which are few in number and used to be quite long) so the project could advance to the more plentiful B and C units sooner

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

It just means at that particular time when your device checked there were no WUs available.

If I understand seippel's post correctly, only 18 WU would be available (worldwide) for now. Then the remaining 1740 in a few days. Don't remember if once the typeB's get processed if they create the typeC's WUs. If so, it will be a few more days still for a general spillage of rain comes. SekeRob will correct me. biggrin I'm getting my rain barrels ready. praying
