I might have to get the old alienware up and running,
----------------------------------------another 40 to 50 a day, that should make about 200 total a day for me if all goes well... I'll keep ya posted. EDIT: Hey we are in 13th place and should be 12th tonight... After that it will get tough, but hey it's worth a try ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Jack007 at May 12, 2012 1:16:51 PM] |

I have a new laptop with a Core I7 processor running on Windows 7 64bit and 8gb of RAM. Can anyone tell me why this 8 core machine will only process 4 wu's at a time? I've checked and it is seeing all 8 cores. My properties are set to use 100% of multiple cores. My other I7 machines process 8 wu's so why won't this one?
----------------------------------------Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Could it be it is a Quad-core, but with hyperthreading? In that case, HT may be switched off in BIOS usually when that happens. How many execution cores do you see in Windows task manager under the tab "performance"? If you see 8 then HT is turned on, if you see 4 then you need to turn it on. So, it is not a "real" 8-core CPU in your laptop, but a quad, where every core can execute two threads each iff HT is on :) ![]() Join The International Team: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=CK9RP1BKX1 AMD TR2990WX @ PBO, 64GB Quad 3200MHz 14-17-17-17-1T, RX6900XT @ Stock AMD 3800X @ PBO AMD 2700X @ 4GHz |

8 cores show in task manager and hyperthreading isn't an option in bios. Checked twice just to be sure.
