I gave up waiting and tried Kubuntu this time, for a number of reasons. Despite only using 3 cores I'm still getting large differences (20%) between elapsed time and CPU time, but at least some of that is a result of using a GPU elsewhere. Might try only using 2 cores, just out of interest. Still, for now it moves me about 2.4days forward every day.

I broke down and finally checked the "If there is no work available for my computer for the projects I have selected above, please send me work from another project." Box.
I can't let my nice Windows machine go to waste. Maybe I can fill up my badges, not that I care about badges. I'm fanatical about this project. |

im a badge hunter and i like this project.. but i dont have the energy to figure linux out. to be honest with the fact i have had thyroid cancer, had my thryoid removed had radiation theropy and everything else that has happend this year i am not up to copeing with figureing out how to install a diffrent operating system when i know windows and its is functioning as well as windows will.
